Don't do it! Every car I've owned with a AM or factory sun roof as leaked.
If you keep your ride long enough it will leak, of course living in Seattle area doesn't help. My current leaky sun roof rig is my 99 4 Runner.

I'm going on 2.5 years with mine - no leaks, no problems Very satisfied.

I've probably mentioned this before, but our last car, a '99 Jetta, had a sunroof and it never leaked in the 11 years we owned it.

That is one big one my wife misses about having the Disco II, we had two power moon roofs, that also, the front one had a shade that slid, and you could get air and not sun ( or moon ), or you could slide that baby open and get both. It tilted or opened as well as had power. And an occasional leak, that goes without saying with age, rubber and gravity ;>)

I would definitely want the shaded option to go with, if I had it, which would require head panel mod to lower it some, so as to accommodate slide or a facsimile thereof.

I've had sunroofs before and it doesn't bother me not having one so I wouldn't spend $$$ to have one put in...but if they were factory installed then it wouldn't keep me from buying a used taco with one

Little late on the deal cause I've been busy, but there is a hole in my roof finally!
Be pickin' it up tomorrow afternoon.

Went w/ the Hollandia 710. As previously mentioned on here, the 730 or 740 is too big for the Access Cabs. Even the 710 will not completely slide in (1" or so) , but I 'll live w/ it.

Cost is around 1300 w/ includes the "special" gasket to deal w/ the ribbing on the roof.

Pics by the weekend for those who giva damn.

I also just had the webasto Hollandia 710 installed. I was extremely concerned in cutting a gapping hole in the roof of my 1 week old access cab trd. But this was always the plan before I bought it. the dealership, did not do it aftermarket, but recomended ASC here in Vancouver Canada. $1450 after taxes and 1 1/2 days later and it's in, and works great.
As a long time boat owner I know and own Webasto products through the marine industry. No one knows leaks better than a boater! The quatlity of the product, and the service of my local installer were awesome. I hope people don't get scared of a few bad experiences. You can't beat having a sunroof.
    Cheers.

I have the fact. installed one on my 1st gen. Wasn't real crazy about sun/moon roofs before anyway, it wasn't a deal breaker i still bought the truck.

The longer I've had it , the more I like it, first off its an option that most Tacoma owners didn't get when they bought their truck & it does give a different look, no leaks or any other shit going on with it either.....

Need some help with anyone who has a roof installed in an Access Cab.

Just got mine back( Hollandia 710 installed) and the "overhang" in the rear when the roof is full open is a bit more than I had hoped. I was told that the length of the access cab will not allow the roof to open completely due to the tracking and this was the only way it could go. Without doing a popout one of course.

It's still great and the install was done very well. The new headliner looks factory.
I can and will live w/ it ( Like I hava choice now) but would like some feedback from any of you who have knowledge in this particular situation.

It's raining here, but I snapped a quick pic of the inside. You'll see the sunshade there which is back the whole way so you get the idea. Didn't feel like messin w/ resizing, so please click on the link.

Thanks in advance for the help and Ba Ba Booey to ya all!!

i wish my 06 came with a sunroof. I would put one in but haven't found a company that i would do a good enough job to keep me from worrying

Yes, that looks about the same as mine. I had the same thought about it not being open enough, but after having it for awhile, it's fine. To tell you the truth, I use the pop-up position 90% of the time because the tint of the glass keeps the sun out.

    Here is mine

Most of the sunroofs I have seen around here have been done by one place here in Houston and the owner are and have been extremely happy with their work

I wouldnt mind a sunroof. I dont want an electric one though. Just one you can manually popup. The less electrical I have to deal with, the better.
