In my case the 6' bed is more important than the MT. I want the extra room in the camper and I definitely don't want a DCLB.

Thanks for the excellent suggestion. Based on my limited off-road needs I'm probably leaning more toward an Eaton Detroit Truetrac, Torsen or similar gear-style LSD that is "always on" in the background, rather than a ARB or similar rear locker that's VERY useful when needed but probably overkill for my driving.

The sport is missing some of the cool features of the OR, but I believe the MT sport has hill assist where it won’t let you roll back when you have your foot on the clutch going up hill. That is a pretty helpful positive for the sport.

I would not want that on my truck, I kinda like having the ability to roll backward in certain situations, if for some reason I want to hold the truck I just grab the handbrake.

Put the truck in gear and turn the starter and it can crawl to help get you out of a hairy situation.

Does this work in Reverse? such as the truck's front end sliding down a slippery slope.

I have never had to use the Clutch Cancel Switch in Reverse but I am sure it would work too.

I think it has a switch for that, but I don’t know that for sure. Any MT sports here?

My '18 MT Sport has hill assist. I s'pose it's useful for folks who haven't been driving stick for 40 years ;)

I've used my locker exactly once.

If you're not off-roading regularly, get the MT. It's my favorite thing about the truck.

    Ok, info people...

    2018 MT Sport AC

Clutch Cancel: press it, start truck (in neutral) without pressing clutch. Pretty straightforward. I have never heard of it being used to "crawl" anywhere.

Hill assist: as stated earlier, it's there. You cannot turn it off. You can wait all of three seconds and then it turns itself off. I have also found that if you roll up to a light, clutch in to shift to neutral but leave the clutch in, the hill assist will NOT engage and you can roll that BMW off your rear bumper to your heart's delight.

Locker: sport doesn't have one. I would wheel the sh!t out of it before deciding whether to spend the money on one or not. In stock form these trucks are incredibly capable. That being said, OR shocks are a cut above the sport in terms of ride quality.

Options: Toyota USA will probably offer an AC OR MT after the mod life refresh. And it'll cost. Because they're greedy business beings at the end of the day. Ugh. Been bugging Toyota on FB as well as dealers about an OR ACMT. they're all sick of me now :D

I have a 2017 DCSB Sport MT, and absolutely love it, I have everything added to the truck that it comes with but there a few things you cannot have on Manual that you can get on a Automatic, e.g. CrawlControl or Push start. No clutch start is great, when you are on a hill or anywhere, press the No Clutch start button, put your truck on 1st gear and start the truck turning the key, and watch the truck move forward without pressing the clutch.

When you are driving on 4Hi or 4lo, if you turnoff your traction control, your LSD with turn on as well. I don't go offoroading much, I want to go riding my truck on dirt roads around here in North Carolina, and go to the mountains with unpaved roads. I don't plan to do rock crawling or extreme off roading, if I was planing that then, the read diff locker would make sense if not, it's a ToyoTaco with 4x4, it is capable of going off road anyways.

Did the 2nd gen Taco's have CrawlControl??
