Just thought I’d share, for anyone wondering when the low fuel light will come on it’s when the needle goes below E lol. This is the first time I’ve ever seen my light. I just assumed it wasn’t working but I guess it is......

I will fill up either tomm or Monday and report back on how many gallons it held just for fun.

I thought the same thing until I saw mine come on once haha. Luckily I was making the journey to the gas station haha. Started feeling happy that my truck was so light. I could probably push it a mile over flat land before dying :ballchain:

I put just over 17 gallons in my truck once driving late at night between Ferron and Ely (NV).

Different on my 01. On my truck the light starts to come on when the needle is at the top of that last thick bar.

hahahahaha I had the same thing in my truck, but it was a curled up dead spider. Got rid of it when I glued the Autobot symbol inside my speedometer (while changing out green backlight for red LED light). For anyone thinking of changing to a red LED, I would highly recommend getting just a red bulb. :) The LED is pretty bright, even on the lowest setting, but red doesn't diminish night vision, hence the change.

I've got a matching spider in the exact same spot! I swear it showed up the day after I bought the truck - I'm a total arachnophobe and there's no way I wouldn't have noticed the beast during my test drive.

I have never ran my truck that low.. I stopped at a light and the needle dropped all the way down and the light came on.. after i went on up the road and it leveled out the light went off, then came back on when i took a turn.. when i fill up ill know how much reserve gas i actually have.

I've ran mine down a few times for shits and grins and refilled promptly. Could only put 16 gallons in every time, so my light comes on when I have 2.5 gallons left...so about 50 miles until empty.

IIRC only 99 & up have the low fuel & low windshield wiper fluid indicators. But I'm old now so my memory could be fuzzy.

Well after I drove to the gas station it moved up right on the block at E. Packed right at 16 gallons. So at empty I still have about 2 gallons. The light wasn’t on after I made it to the station so it must come on after reading less than 2 gal.
