My order has already been placed, and I'm not sure if I can change it. Plus I dont really want to. Mat's got enough to deal with, to haggle with someone who has version remorse. Its kind of a bummer bc I have a perfectly good laptop just sitting here, but it's all good.
I dont think it's even under OVTunes control. I believe the wait has to do with the handheld manufacturer. Kind of feel like the low man on the totem pole, but its cool. I can wait a little longer. Just looking for an updated ETA.

If you're looking for more people to test a mysterious file that has characteristics similar to 1.03, I'm your huckleberry.

I actually think a 4th gear range half way between 1.04 and 1.05 would be perfect. It'd make the 5-3 double downshift less frequent, increase responsiveness (by not being stuck in 5th when it should be in 4th), while also not going into 4th unnecessarily.

@OVTune is this a similar reason why sometimes, at moderate throttle, we get a 1-2-4-3-4 shift pattern? It's like the highway 6-5-3-4-5 thing in reverse...

Same here @OVTune - I'm a stock SR5 and would love to get a hold of what they say is a little more aggression. My first tune after purchase was 1.05 .

@OVTune most service desk platforms have a customer portal to check on open request tickets. Does yours offer one?

I don't understand why people can't wait for custom tunes instead of expecting Mat to come out with 10 million versions of 1.05.

Thanks Mat. Is it possible to get the shift lock tune pre loaded to the handheld before it gets shipped to us? Would be awesome since we have been patiently waiting. :tumbleweed:

Okay, I have a 2016 AC, AT, TRD-OR. Stock wheels, with the only mod being a set of Rock Sliders, weighing maybe 150lbs. I am an early adopter, using a dongle to have run every tune iteration since day one.

I now have 500+ miles on the latest 1.05, 93 octane tune, and feel obliged to give a short review here.

In short, it is OVT’s best effort yet, and I am nothing but happy and appreciative. It drives like a performance truck should, with shift points and smoothness, as well as engine braking, well within ‘normal’ expectations. As a bonus, low end torque and fuel efficiency improvements are readily noticeable and measurable, even to a insensitive guy like me who does not pretend to see, and then criticize, a sift of 50 rpm higher or lower than some pre-conceived notion. The truck runs great, city, highway or off-road.

I do still have some surging when backing out of the garage on a cold morning, and I do still experience the dreaded ‘clunk’ for the first stop or two, also in cold weather. SO much better than OEM, that I am ashamed to even mention it. I do so only in the interest of full disclosure.

Thank you Mat. You’ve completely changed my opinion of this truck.

Neither. I'm back on the TSB. Every truck is clearly very different. My truck ran like absolute garbage on the first 2 Toyota calibrations. Wanted to drive it through the showroom floor at the dealer I hated it so bad. Mat came along back in '17 and fixed that for me with 1.01b and subsequent releases were generally an improvement and I never really had any issues like stumbling and whatnot that others experienced with some of the early versions. My truck always responded very well to a new flash.

Then I updated to the TSB back in October and, with only a few hundred miles here and there to try test files or 1.05 final release, I've run the TSB almost exclusively since that time. For me, the TSB is very smooth throughout. Low-end does suck which OVTune absolutely fixes, but I honestly don't have a lot of issues now that others report on the TSB alone. My truck holds 5/6 on the highway unless I want to accelerate quickly, then it'll drop to 4th predictably but it doesn't downshift to 4th on overpasses, mild grades, or winds like it did previously. Oddly enough, the transmission learning hasn't been an issue with the TSB for me - it holds 4th for the most part around town which I prefer. I get no dead pedal feeling anywhere as was the case with prior Toyota calibrations, etc.,

I also had knocking and higher than normal misfires on 1.05. I've always been one of those trucks that had some weird low speed ignition instability (always could see several misfires on a cold start) but they were 4x with 1.05 and I had some pinging (more so on 87 with 93 in the tank than 93 with 93 in the tank - go figure).

I trust and believe in Mat's abilities and know if I had taken the time to do a bunch of logging and back and forth he would get it sorted out, but given I'm over 2 years in on this truck now, have done tons of logging, and flashed my truck no less than 50 times, I'm kind of burnt out. My truck is running fine, smooth, easy on the drivetrain.

I'm so very happy for the hundreds of folks who have been given the chance to love their truck again after flashing 1.05. I have no doubt in your experiences and know Mat is the reason many Taco owners are enjoying their daily drives now. I'm just no longer the target customer - and I've come to terms with that.

Hey guy so I’m trying to flash and I keep getting unsuccessful. I usually get 1 unsuccessful then it flashes normal, no it’s always saying unsuccessful. I have a maestro RR installed for my aftermarket stereo for steering wheel controls, that’s the only thing different from last time I flashed. Is it screwing with the security check? My battery says 11.7 volts, don’t think that would be the issue though. Any insight? @OVTune

Good deal. Definitely helps being stock as well to hold gears better
