Alright I know there are a lot of threads on this subject, and I have read through just about all of them, so, sorry if this is just a repeat thread but I'm hoping to get some straight answers for my situation and desired setup. Here is what I would like to do: I own a 2005 Tacoma Double Cab. At this point is it completely stock, aside from a toneau cover. I am considering the OME Suspension Lift Kit ($699.99) . I am confused on the following (bear with me, I am definitely a Noob):

-Top Plate Spacers: What do these do?
-Rear Options: Toytec Add-a-Leaf Standard, Toytec Add-a-Leaf for TSB(?), and Rear Block Kit (what are the differences?)

This truck is my daily driver and occasionally sees mud and snow, but nothing extreme. Considering my options with this kit, what selections should I make to meet these following goals:

-a FULL 3" lift all around and level
-ability to fit 285's w/ my stock rims with minimal rub/trimming

Please Help! Advice and opinions very much appreciated...:D

Shok Industries 2/0 big 4 upgrade and sound deadener.
Top plate spacers can be used to add up to 3" of lift or 1/4" to fix the drivers side lean. Add a leafs are simply an extra leaf or leafs that add a little height and improve the ride quality in most cases. The AAL for TSB is for people who have had the TSB done to their rear suspension to fix sagging under load. A rear block kit is just a set of metal or plastic blocks that go between the axle and leaf pack to lift or lower the vehicle.

For a full 3" with that kit do what the site says, add top plate spacers as the coils only add 1.5"-2" if I recall correctly and any of the rear set ups will bring you level I believe. You can always contact them on here under the vendors tab, they were always quick with responses to my questions.

do the aal and either one works great!

The top plate spacer is what gets placed on top of the coilover assembly before you place it on the truck. you will get longer top plate studs which will allow you room for the spacer as you tighten the assembly onto the truck. the spacers are what gives you the full 3" of lift and for the double cab I think 885's, since you have no weight adding mods, are the best choice.

Just wanna ask a side question... Can you run bilstein 5100's plus a coil spacer to get a full 3" lift up front. Then just AAL in the rear for 2 or 3" of lift? I know that the 5100's are adjustable but only to 2.5" and I've heard its not really 2.5".

I have an 09 double cab. Or can i run different coils like 885s plus spacers with 5100's?

never ever ever evvvvver purchase a "plastic" block. blocks are already bad enough for the leafs... plastic will crack eventually, personally iv never heard of PLASTIC blocks...

The OME setup is awesome. get it. make sure you get new shocks in the front. prefferably the OME nitro charged shocks.

for the rear get a single AAL or a 3 leaf pack. Toytec makes a good Long AAL for a "smoother" ride. its still firm but its not too bad. if you wheel you truck then get extended shocks for the rear.

youll be able to fit the 33s with this lift. no trimming required.

my rule of thumb is to never STACK lifts... i wouldnt do it.

if you get the 885 and dont have any additional weight (110lbs) on the front you will get a good 3" but it will be stiff....
