Do most people remove dealer decals?

They are a good dealer but they put that sticker on the bottom corner of the tailgate. Had to go for me. Changed the licsense plate frame too but that’s just how I am.

 

If a dealer puts a sticker on my car I tell them to take it off .Who the fuck do they think they are .Goes for plate frames as well .

 

I didn't think about it until I joined TW. Now I remove them.

seriously. i carry my front plate in my back seat for when they're looking for clowns during happy hour. just show 'em the plate and say the bracket is on order. hasn't failed me yet but i just posted about it so it will fall next time, right?

 

I was going to say this too. I notice that the dealer sticker or badge on the back is a midwest/Texas thing?

I take the TRD stickers off of the bed sides, the "V6" on the tailgate, and the "Tacoma" off of the doors. The SnugTop oval thingies on my new shell go too as does the sticker on the back glass. No dealer license plate frame ever. I can't stand all of that crap.

Bought the SX package and they put a white decal on the lower left tailgate, they could have put on a black one. Removed it soon as I got home.

Usually they are some garbage sticker and the only thing it’s good for is ruining paint

 

I tell them I'll buy it without dealer stickers as long a it doesn't leave a mark.

 

Both times I drove my truck home from the dealer, pulled into my driveway, got out of the truck, walked to tailgate and peeled off their decal.

My 2016 side decals lasted 5 days, my emblems even less. I left the decals and emblems on my 2013, less the V6 badge. Looking back I'd have pulled the emblems but left the TRD sticker as I thought it looked nice on that truck.

 

You gave them your money. You don’t need to do their advertising for them.

I have the dealer remove them before I leave the lot.

 

Some of us may still have the dealer decal on the tailgate.

I cant find my heat gun... and I am going to keep using that excuse until I can get myself to go look for it again

 

I had a dealership service writer tell me they prioritize maintenance work orders based on which vehicles were purchased at that dealership vs other locations. The dealer name plate/sticker was what they used to ID purchase location, and get your car in & out quickly. I called BS, but I guess it could play a factor with certain dealers...

 

I enjoy watching the salesman sputter when I ask them how much they are going to reduce my price by for the advertising they've plastered all over my truck. It's usually gone before I take delivery; if not it doesn't survive more than about 15 minutes after I get home.

The dealer license plate frame was removed the first day I owned the truck. I just got around to removing the dealer decal on the tailgate, today. No free advertising!

 

You should visit the Toyota website. If you register with your Vin, you can see every service and also the dealership the truck was shipped to and the dealership it was sold from.

The dealership doesn't need to look at the tailgate or license plate frame to know if they sold it- they know as soon as they bring up the record.
