Agreed on all counts. The people that frequent TW are definitely not most people. We are a more fussy lot than the average vehicle owner methinks.

I inform the dealer of my fee schedule at the point of sale and they promptly remove it no questions asked.

That’s another reason not to take your vehicle to the dealer for service.

Never heard of this practice when I worked at one, but that was long ago. I don’t see any sense in that anyway, money is money doesn’t matter where it was purchased.

I took the dealer sticker off my tailgate shortly after purchase but never noticed the plate frame. I’ll be removing that tomorrow.

Amazing the stuff you find out on TW!

I politely disagree... by appearing to give priority, they present an elavated level of service to loyal customers, looking for return/repeat buyers.

I told the dealer to remove not put the stickers on and if they were already on to remove them.

The shops don’t make money on the sale of the cars, they make it on repairs. most tech are paid on piece work so cranking out as many as you can makes you money and your team doesn’t matter what Toyota dealer they came from. If the shop doesn’t do a good job on your Tacoma, your going to complain or go else where.

I’m referencing dealerships, with “shops”... agree most of the money is made from the service department, however additional funds are produced from repeat sales (which in turn means more service for the “shops”). I’m applying critical thinking skills, beyond the simple and obvious...

My dealer didn't put a decal sticker on my truck however there is a dealer license plate frame which I have no problem with. I like my dealer and don't mind advertising for them. (Freeman Toyota) Ft Worth Tx. If I find a different frame I just have to have, I'll change it.
I did black out Tacoma on sides and V6 on tailgate along with Tacoma on tailgate. I took my TRD Off Road decals off the bed sides but I'm going to put those back on. Do it the way you want it and what looks best to you.

I never cared much about a small unobtrusive dealer sticker on the tailgate or bumper of my vehicles.
    Manufacturer stuff I leave on.

    But get this:
In PA you only have a license plate on the back.
So, you guessed it, they put a plate on the front of my Tacoma with the dealership name on it.
Not just a frame, that's bush league.
A full size goddamn license plate with their name on it.
That's way, way over the top.
