I have a newfound love for compression sacks. Just set the tent up and then folded/rolled it the way I saw best, put it in the sack and compressed it to 1/4 of it’s regular cinch bag size.

    How is it got venting
I know most 4 season tents are shit come summer as they don't have much ventilation to them

Got 2 1.5ftx1/2ft vents at the top and a 3x3ft door front and back that are half vents. Might get a bit toasty but we’ll most likely be in shaded areas doing backcountry. We also want to try out winter camping so it was a best of both worlds.

Cool thing about the tent is that we can forgoe the actual tent and just fast pack and set it up just the rainfly, poles and footprint. Will offer lots of ventilation that way.

I ended up with two tents, one for summer and one for winter. I was tired of trying to make the winter one work. Didn't have proper vents.

If it comes down to it and we aren’t happy with it for summer I’ll probably end up doing that too. Can never have too much camping gear lol

Protip: The dipstick can give variable readings because the tube has two sharp bends in it, causing oil to get smeared in the tube bore. Remove dipstick, wait 5 minutes (for oil in the tube to drain down), then insert dipstick to get a reading.

I feel that, I’m due for a good purging off all the old shit that’s been piled up and untouched for a few years.

A lot of tents do that too. Then you get bugs.

Does that one have bug netting though over the vents? I've seen some with no bug net which makes them shit for summer.

For winter camping you'll need good sleeping bags, good sleeping pad and lots of layers

I’ve always wanted to try fishing out but since living in a big city the opportunity has never come up to go. Would anyone be down to shop me the ropes of fishing? I understand the basics and I’d probably get a license too so I don’t get dinged. Considering buying a rod as well, my favourite fish are fresh fish beer battered with tartar. Is it okay to eat the fish out of the lakes? I’ve heard you shouldn’t because of the pollution but I really don’t know that much about spots or where to find good fish.

I never fished. Fishing is something that doesn't appeal do me so I can't help you. I imagine it's relaxing.

I know. I'll have to find some roads on the weekend when I get back.

I get back to work on Wednesday so I think I'm missing the cold snap, good timing.

So true. Ideally my truck should travel with me so when I get here, I can go wheeling with the locals.
