I figured they are not going to be making any changes for years to come. Different wheels, radio, colors, ect, but most things on Toyota Trucks stick for a long long time.

I would, however like to know if they are adding or deleting any colors. If there is a new color I might like I will wait, if they are deleting a color I like, I might jump on it now.

I wish they had added a nav system to it. I would love to get one that is "made for my truck". A factory look is always nice to me.

I hear ya! I swapped out my single disc with a six disc in-dash changer in my '02 4Runner. Bought one out of a Seqouia off Ebay. It confused the dealer when I traded it for my Tundra because that year 4Runner was not availible with 6-Disc. I do, however, want steering wheel controls on my Taco. The local Toyota dealer is telling my that SET (Southeastern Toyota) does not order them that way and I might want to look in another region to find one. Closest one I have found is Texas (12 hours away).

It states the variable speed wipers are standard in all models, yet it list no mechanical changes.

There were alot of rumors on TN about the 08 having the tundra V8. I assumed that was completely not true but now i guess thats confirmed

I have heard from a pretty good source that the 4.7 will not be put in the Taco. I am hoping that is true and the taco does not get V8, I really dont want to have to trade in my truck.:D

in Canada...the Yamaha edition is no longer available for the 08 model. The SR5 gets a few more options tacked onto it. So right now for Canada, all I see is the SR5 model and the TRD offroad/tow package.

The 2008 Tacoma is finally updated on Toyota's website. It appears that base prices increased by $100. The accessories page has been updated - nothing much other than some new pics (TRD cat-back exhaust) and explanations.

I just revisited the website and now there are only 4 colors! They must be updating this as I'm typing this.

Just looked as curiosity was getting the better of me, and it depends on the model and bed configuration selected what colors you get to choose, example x-runners are only black or red, pre-runners are white, black, or red. 4x4 access cabs thus far have the most color selection but so far no speedway blue for the 08 tacos.

Glad I bought mine this year, otherwise I would have kept my Imperial Jade Mica 04, and just worked the hell out of the engine to be able to pull my camper.

I just checked it out and it looked like all the colors are coming on all the same models. No new colors....but I am very curious to see what this looks like...

K&N Drop in, Bilstein 5100's in front with Readylift kit on top for a 3 in. lift in the front and a 1 in. block in the rear. Next project is going to be TRD Supercharger and Camburg coilover long travel system with custom skid plate and tubes. Maybe some new tires and wheels then..
I just bought mine last nite..2008 TRD Sport SR5 4x4 4DR...I cannot begin to tell you how impressed I am with this pickup..this is goin to be a gem in the upcoming years..hell..it is already now..I love it..

for now..I'm goin to grab a pair of Daystar(right spelling?) Shock Spacers for the front which will give it a nice 2-2.5' lift in front and will be able to run 33 in tires with very minor rub on stock wheels.. thats what was recommended by a buddy who did this to his girlfriends 07 Taco..just like mine but only Access Cab..I can tell you that it is solid..we all went off road and it held its own..gives it just a bit more stiffness..which is pretty good..

It looks great..mild baja prerunner look..and nice meaty tires..her truck looks awesome in my opinion..

This is an in expensive way to achieve a good lift for little money..in fact..tires are gonna cost you more..hahaha..

Does anyone else think it's stupid to sell 08 vehicles in Aug of 2007? How did that happen? I mean, how did they ever get the whole next years model in the Summer of the previous year? I bought my truck in July and it was built in June. I realize there are changes to the "next years" model (usually) but why not just wait until 2008?

Since when did the auto year start in August? Everything is doing this..Halloween starts now (Yes, I saw Halloween junk in the store yesterday), Thanksgiving starts in October somewhere and Christmas starts in November.

Whose the genius that made all this the status quo?

I've never really understood that either... maybe someone can enlighten us.. how fair is to some who buys an 07 in may... and then the 08's come out in Aug. does it make the 07's anyless of a newer truck? anyway.. just asking!

Well I dont' know about your area... but... The local Wal'mart stores here put out their Halloween and Christmas stock in the the same area at the same time!

    How crazy is that!

its all about money. the longer they can have stuff of the shelves the longer they can sell it. people are done buying summer items like weed wackers and garden supplies. So they move in the next holiday crap. But as far as cars and trucks I really dont know. i bought my truck a month ago, and i guess you can consider it last years model.

Its funny cuz i asked the dealer the same questions basically..the toyota lot that i got my 08 from was a well established lot..real big..big inventory..and that was the only one that was an 08...but..it was the model i was looking for with everything i had wanted..the 07's were all the same..but just the little differences i guess..plus color..they didnt have any other silvers...gang of white..black..reds...i just wanted silver..lol.

they said that in the car biz...the "new year" starts in September..funny..we are still in August and I have a 2008 Tacoma..rofl..i dunno..they wanna sell cars..and i wanted to buy one..hahahaha..worked out for me..i gotta good deal on it..less than sticker..and a good payment..so me and the wife are glad..
