What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Someone mentioned the mod bug on here. Darn thing bit me. Wallet won't stop bleeding. Just added redline struts and many other parts on the way. Will post pics as I install.

 

My truck is stock height. The tires are 265/75r16

I'm running 265/75/16 on stock height and wheels. No problems at all. Except buying bigger tires when I do lift it lol.

 

Sure. I will do the best I can from memory:

1. Rockymounts Loball Track mounts were purchased from Amazon
2. Water port mount and kit was bought from Costco.
3. Hi lift jack mount was bought from Relentlessfabrication.com
4. Shovel and ax are mounted with quick fists bought from Amazon, and the quick fists are mounted to relentless fabrication tool mounts.
5. Rotopax 2 gallon water can is mounted with a double Rotopax mount. That mount is attached to the side bed rails by custom. Out made from sheet metal from Home Depot ( posted earlier in this thread about details on this)
6. Bed bar was purchased from Harbor Freight.
7. Truck bed cargo net purchased from Amazon.
8. Access 18” battery powered LED strips purchased from Amazon.
9. Cab bed rail was purchased from my local toyota dealer.
10. Tonneau cover is from TruXPort

Need any other specific info just let me know.

The specs on the Ranger look good, but it's not a good looking truck. Sort of like a Ridgeline with a real bed.

 

Push down your ring under the shifter.
Unscrew the gear shifter knob.
Engage your emergency brake and lock into fully engaged position.
Remove the two bolts in the storage area of the center console. Lift from the rear.
Stick a small 2x4 by the seat belt fasteners and under the console setup so that you can reach under and unplug both the 12 outlet and the lighting for the gear selector.
Remove center console.

Then it's just a matter of cutting out a circle on the backside of the console. Feel around and pay attention to the ribbing on the the backside of your intended location. I ended up cutting some of it so that i could reach up inside easier to plug and unplug my outlet. Tap into the current yellow and white (i think) wires that run to the outlet inside the center console.

When reinstalling, be extra mindful of the gear shifter boot. Don't puncture it with the shifter rod. Got close to doing that my first time.

 

I finally got my Lift, Wheels, Tires and Upgraded rotors installed this weekend!! It feels like I have a brand new truck!!

I just used the plasti-dip, pretty painless, but took time. I was about to de-badge, then decided to try this stuff.

 

After driving for a few days y conclusion is it sounds pretty good to me, hopefully it wont develope a loud drone like my Magnaflow did on my 2010 DCSB with the 4.0. But honestly it sounds really good now. I say go ahead and get one if you are considering it.

 

Not today, but this weekend I installed Bilstien 6112/5160s. Set the 6112s on the 3rd and 4th perch and the truck sits level. No lift in the rear. I also installed the pro skid.
Overall, a very easy job. I’m a right hand amputee (below elbow), and installed it on my own without any issues; just time consuming!

 

Yeah, it is pretty cool...a whole subculture and society with Tacos at the centre! I wonder about demographics.....here, the vast majority of Harley owners are Baby Boomers, which makes sense. I wonder at the average age of a Tacoma Aficionado

And we need a movie....Harley owners can justifiably lay claim to "Easy Rider"...do we have one? "Back to the Future" maybe?

 

Has Anyone every installed a Raxiom Bluetooth remote control yet? Looking at wiring options, and this thing is cool.
