The purpose of the Clutch Cancel Switch is to get you out of a hairy situation, with the truck off press the switch, put it in 1st gear and ride the starter out. It is my theory that the reason the manuals still have a key instead of push button start is to allow proper use of the Clutch Cancel Switch.

This sums up the clutch cancel and keyed features perfectly. Only other benefit is that you can pop-start your manual Tacoma if the battery ever runs out. You’re SOL getting your auto to start if the battery dies without a jump start or a portable charger.

And your theory is a fact. Clutch cancel would be useless without a key ignition.

    Simple answer for simple question.

    YES!!!

The fact that you are asking means you want it, better do it sooner than later while dealer will still give you good value trade.

Why? Its super easy to get a Canadian citizenship. The test has 2 questions
"Do you want to be a Canadian citizen?"
    'Yes"
    "Really"
    'Yes'

OP unfortunately TRDOR 6MT w/ 6' bed is THE unicorn now. Have you, or anyone for that matter, looked into getting one from :canada:?
There is always the *chance* of a :canada: 3'rd gen in this configuration being found at a US dealer taken in on trade as well.

Otherwise you might just be better off looking for a 2'nd gen TRDOR 6MT w/ 6' bed.

FWIW I feel the 6’ bed is the bare minimum on any truck. I wouldn’t be able to lay down, put my skis in the back of or haul this bad bitch with a short bed. That alone is reason enough not to settle for less.

Why would you get a sport? It's no better than the SR5, just more expensive.

Or do you have to go to the TRD trim now to get the standard trans?

FYI, if you decide on second gen don't get the standard trans. They suck! It's the exact opposite of third gens where standard seems to be we're it's at!

The only Manuals available today are sport, Off Road, or Pro.

So then the OP could get a PRO with stick shift as an access cab?

If you wanted a locker in the rear you could always get an ARB later.
