Do most people remove dealer decals?

LOL, same here. I had the dealer remove their decals before I took delivery of my 18 sport. They really didn't like it but they didn't have much of a choice.

 

My truck was a dealer trade. My dealer removed the previous dealer sticker for obvious reasons and never got around to putting theirs on before I bought the truck. They did put one of their license plate frames on, but that went in the trash when I got my real plates.

To input on some of the comments about service priority. I work in service at a boat dealership and I like to see customers come in that purchased from a different dealer. It gives me a chance to show we can take care of them and we want their business. It does not matter where they purchased from, because the real money comes from service.

 

First thing I had the sales team do is remove their decal and replace their plate frame with a TRD one...

 

Sticker, 3M'd emblem looking thing and/or license plate frame all go bye-bye immediately................new or used vehicle.

 

Yep, obnoxious chrome lettering and badges too...

Sticker and license plate frame as soon as I got home. When I bought my first Tacoma, I asked the salesman to leave off the sticker (the truck was still being unwrapped). He said I wouldn't get free car washes if I didn't have the dealer name. The service department laughed the first time I took it in for an oil change. Yes, they washed it without the sticker.

 

The trick comes with a front plate that screwe into the bumper. I also made sure to tell them not to mount that. Since I've had 2 3rd gens, I have 2 of those just sitting in my garage.

 

My Tacoma dealer installed a rear license plate frame but no stickers/emblems etc. Thumbs up to them. As soon as I got my plates the frame was removed.
They also did not attach my front plate mount. I fretted a little over putting holes in my new truck but I have to run a front plate so I attached it.

Shit, I didn’t negotiate it in the deal, and now I have the license plate thing! Can I take it off if I didn’t negotiate taking it off when I bought a year ago or so?

 

I make the dealer do it on every vehicle. Some look shocked when I request
it and then I ask them, "how much was it you're paying me to advertise for you?"
After that they just remove them.

 

I asked them up front to not put it on there. Suppose that's only an option if you are looking at one that has yet to be delivered though. Same with front license plate bracket as I bought from a state that requires them but was taking it back to a state that does not. Same with washing, removing packing materials, etc. I basically said don't touch it except for the bare minimum that's required in the PDI which I didn't even want them to do that.

I immediately remove all dealer stickers, license plate frame, emblems and anything else that is not securely attached. I prefer the clean look.

 

I went to all the dealers around me and also pick them up when i travel out of state, i have them all in line on the back gate in a row ... looks cool

But no just the front plate had there name on it and i left it an for a few months as they sold me it under $2500 than my best deal .. no sale staff, i sat in the owners office and talked out a deal in a few hours, $3875 under MSRP everything at dealer cost. So leaving it on for a bit was ok..
