    Hi Everyone-
So I just joined this group because after owning 3 Tacos over the many years, I am not happy with my new 2016 Sport TRD. At 82k while driving 20-50 MPH a rapid shudder took place which will last for 2-4 seconds. I was told by my dealership that it was the torque converter and although not 100% certain they felt that the transmission as well needed to be replaced. So far the only torque converter issue I can find was with the 2012- 2013 Camrys and so I wonder if anyone else has had this issue and what your dealership has said about it. Toyota cut me a deal on the replacement of the tranny and torque converter which was helpful, but I am not pleased - anyone else having this type of issue?

Before doing any replacements, make sure they have updated the transmission to the latest calibration/software. Fixes a lot of the shuddering, torque converter, rough shifting characteristics. Definitely addressed these problems from my 17'

    Welcome to TW.

How long have you owned this truck?

Having to replace the transmission and torque converter- Toyota "cut you a deal"?

    Can you be more specific?

    Thanks

Have them check fluid level as well.

Yes. Although if the truck's been run with low fluid for 82k I probably would let them replace the damn thing!
