Man the MINNEAPOLIS MIRACLE last year and the NO CALL IN NAWLINS this year are a couple tough losses to take if you're a Taints fan. That's the kind of soul crushing defeat a franchise never recovers from. The stink of failure may never wash off that community. Too bad.

 

It always comes down to bad calls/ no calls. For those teams that benefit from either, their fans are good with it of course. For those that get the shit end of the stick on a bad call or no call, the fans have the right to be majorly pissed. I've seen this scenario for years, and apparently nothing can be done about it. I'd vote for the camera to have the last say on the most controversial calls, not the obvious ones and somebody that isn't wearing a striped shirt to have the final say.

 

We are getting closer and closer to being able to challenge penalties and lack of penalties.

Ugh. That would be terrible. Making every play reviewable would flat-out ruin the game, because EVERY time there was a TD or a big play or a team started marching downfield and went to the 'hurry up' play calling you'd have the opposing coach insisting on a review.

 

Sadly there was ref probably less than 10 ft away who had the best view in the world and “missed” it. Or more likely the case who wasn’t go throw a flag that would all but guarantee a Saints win. Woohooo thanks NFL for turning into the old NBA you know when the refs controlled the outcome.

Cory Littleton helmets josh Hill and knocks him out of the game, no call. Coleman helmets Lewis, no call. Blind ref syndrome has been deciding big games for too long.

Like the idea of fining the refs if they really fuck up.

And yes on the defense, I mentioned it a few pages ago. It started in the era of fantasy football. I blame Bill Polian and Peyton Manning as well, they cried to the league after the Patriots D roughed them up so badly in the 2003 AFC Championship game as well.

 

The NFL should at least be honest...
If they want to help the "large market" teams get to the superbowl they should just spot them 10 points or so in the Conference Championship games.. right at the start, no if's, and's, or but's.
Then at least the small market opponents know what they have to overcome to win the game.. a ten point deficit right out the gate.
That would be much more fair than what went on in the final two minutes of yesterday's game.

Yup, remember he played on the Panthers in 2003 the year they went to the Super Bowl. Tommy Maddox went on to play in Pittsburgh as well..there's more but there's the 2 biggest ones off my skull.

The XFL could have been something better if they marketed it as a minor league to the NFL, I think.

I hear ya. If you think about it though, there’s bs with every team. Texas is big on football so that’s kinda par for the course.

 

I spent a fortune on that game at the bar I frequented back then, first one in the place to beat all the teams.
