Lately I've been noticing that my 2018 TRD OR hops a little when I slow down to a stop. Especially if it's from a relatively higher speed, like 60mph. The truck hops from the back end, kind of like you're driving over a consistently bumpy road.

So, after a few weeks of this, I decided to schedule a service visit with Toyota. After a few hours with my truck, they called me and said that they will need to order a new axle for the back. They didn't do a very good job explaining the actual issue/reason. They just said it was a TSB thing that was due to a potential gap between the axle and some flange, which requires an entire axle replacement. Granted, this is 100% covered by warranty, but still, DANG! My truck has 8K miles on it.

Has anyone else heard of an issue like this? From a bit of googling, I came across a term called "Axle Warp". Could this be it?

Known issue but I don't recall an entire axle replacement. The axle is comprised of several parts, I'm sure they meant that the whole axle needs removed. The axle shafts dif, etc are fine.

The lady working at the service department said both axles will need to be replaced. I think by that she may have meant something like both axle shafts or something like that, so you're probably right.
