Todd Gurley exchanging jerseys with the ref is the greatest thing to come out of that game.

It's really quite simple, the better teams won yesterday in both the AFC and NFC championship games.

Good Luck in the Super Bowl L.A., thrive on those salty tears of the Monday morning qb's

    ....Here.
But talking shit isn't really my MO. The Pats are a great team, I know it, I love them, and I don't usually see the point in denigrating somebody else's team. So I don't spend all season here because the shit talking gets annoying. :notsure:

    Edit-
Watching Brady and the offense set a passing record and still lose was really annoying, though

It’s even more annoying listening to them cry about the patriots winning and refs every time their teams lose. Just accept the fact they got outplayed. If you’re such a good team, it shouldn’t come down to a single penalty to win it or lose it.

True, but I can see the frustration from Saints fans today. Two really evenly matched teams like that can mean that a single penalty at the right (or wrong) time can totally make or break a game, especially down the back stretch of Q4

Edit- On the other hand, the Saints got away with more than a few penalties during the game, including some face mask pulls, so my sympathy is blunted somewhat. But they weren't as blatant, or at such a critical moment.

    Who are you???
Eh. Rams had plenty of blown calls for/against them too. Refs suck but it’s a part of the game. Don’t like it? Don’t watch it.

I'll readily admit that I love talking football but get burned out on trash talk in a hurry. So I'll drop in here for a discussion, but usually see something shiny and wander off when the mud fights start

Shouldn't come down to a coin toss and a first touchdown in OT either.

It is what it is though.

I agree with this, and that's speaking as a Pats fan whose team has benefited from the current rules twice in the last couple of years. I think it should be a full quarter of regular play, personally. The whole "whoever wins the toss gets the best shot at a W" thing bugs me.

Commentators were talking about the League throwing around the idea of getting rid of the kick off. Would be interesting to see how they would handle that.

That would take a lot of the excitement out of opening the halves...
Personally, I love watching a good run back on a kickoff or a punt. One of the most exciting parts of the game when you see a guy slip through a field of defenders for 6 points

And a good way for players to 'climb the ladder' within an organization, too. Look at Edelman; he spent a few years mostly just returning punts/kicks.

Patriots obviously didn't have a defense either to get forced into overtime with 32 seconds left. That's irrelevant. Top scoring team in the NFL with home field advantage and made a great comeback(s) to force OT only to watch as a dumb OT rule for touchdowns prevents them from having a chance to score one of their own.

OT should be played the full 15 mins, if not shortened down to 10 minutes. Makes no sense to score a FG and give the other team a chance to score one too or a TD to win and not allow that same opportunity after a first drive TD.
