I just purchased a 2010 DC Sport 4X4 and the mod game has begun. Soon to arrive is the OME Lift Kit from Toytec with 885 springs, rear AAL, sway relocate, diff drop, and axle shims (same setup as Ultimate Lift Kit w/ OME shocks/springs to replace the coilovers). I've gotten a few estimates from local shops here and the install seems to run between $600-$800 which is pretty ridiculous. I don't mind doing the work myself, in fact I would prefer it, but I'm a little uneasy about doing a suspension install with no previous experience. I've done plenty of reading that says it is not hard to do with basic tools and a spring compressor, but I would greatly prefer a little help if anyone around me is willing to meet up and lend a hand, particularly with the fronts. I can offer endless beer and pizza and a day of fun working on a truck.

I live in Stafford, VA but would be willing to meet somewhere else that is more suitable/convenient. Thanks.

There are quite a few folks down here in the Norfolk/VA Beach area that would love to help, myself included! If you are able to get on Langley AFB they have a auto hobby shop with a lift/spring compressor so that'll make things easier.

I am in Willimsburg, and have all tools and garage space to handle this, including air, which helps alot.

If you guys want to make a meet of it, let me know. You are more than welcome and I can lend a hand.

I have lifted a few trucks in the past and plan on doing mine next month

    Just let me know

I'm in to lend a hand, especially if we make a meet of it!

I did the Toytec ultimate lift myself (twice!) and it wasn't too bad. If you're not replacing the UCAs it should go pretty quick. I don't have a spring compressor though since mine came with pre-assembled coilovers. To be honest, those things scare me

wow you guys are all awesome. i was contemplating heading up to fort belvoir to use their auto shop for the lift and spring compressor if I couldn't find any help. as anxious as I am to get the lift installed, I think I can hold off until next month if someone wants to host a meeting somewhere down in the Williamsburg/VA Beach/Norfolk area. Its about a 2 hour drive for me but that beats paying someone to do work on my truck.

Sounds great. We recently had a Mod day/meet and i was able to install my lift. Thanks for hosting these types of meets, this really helps people like me who like to do their own work but live in apartment complexes. I'd be willing to help out, but Williamsburg is a bit of a drive for me. Then again, you guys with blowers are tempting me. Is that something that can be done at a mod day?

Not Aug 28. I'll be in Wisconsin getting the knot tied.

Which means I better have my AAL purchased before then ;)

I can't do it on the 14th of August but I will be available on the 7th (Saturday). I'll be out of town from the 8th through the 15th.

I think it could be done in a day if you have two people working on different parts of it at the same time, especially if one or both have done it before and figured out all the nuances. You will want to have the reflash done pretty much right after the installation though so that has to be set up first.

Do you have a S/C waiting to be installed?

I can try and plan for the 7th. , the 8th is our anniversary so I am booked that day;)

If you guys are willing to come to Williamsburg, I can discuss it with the wife and most likely host. we can put the project truck in the garage and I can handle 4-6 trucks in the driveway and 4 on the street

I have air and all the tools required for something like this (air tools/ torque wrenches/spring compressors, and an arsenal of other hand tools)

this should get me in the mood to install all of my stuff :D

Sounds good! 7th would be best for me, and this sounds like a plan. I can bring tools that are needed but I am limited to ratchets/jackstands/handtools.

I have two sets of jack stands and a floor jack,

but... my driveway is not very mod friendly. its it pretty big, but it is a pretty nice incline too. so if you want to jack it up, make sure you have wheel chocks.

We can plan all that as the day comes closer.

first things first..... I need the kitchen pass

we hosted a bunch of XRU meets, so its not normally a problem

    thats great.

i need to check out the rear brake line setup on the Fabtech.

I have the front of the kit, but I am missing most of the rear brake line brackets. I think I can avoid most of them with my longer lines, but I need to check out the ABS brackets. I think I can just make them myself instead of ordering them.

I'm in for the 7th! I have a high lift floor jack, jack stand, cordless electric impact, torque wrench, and bunches of hand tools that I can bring along. I have 2 C-clamps that can be used to hold together leaf packs too.
