Where you nerds at? It's Monday and I'm at work with nothing to do. Help me plan my lift kit.

I don't think I could care any less about work today. Nearly impossible to be here.

I don't understand much about how these lifts work yet. My experience in suspension is from doing the opposite...lowering.

I don't get how there are spacer lifts that make the truck ride rougher. Why would you jam a spacer in between the spring mounts and preload that thing? I thought most spacers went on top of upper spring mount just lifting the truck up on same spring distance. More or less a lift block for the leafs in back. Wtf do I know. Not the lift I would go with though.

I need to get some better visuals of how these struts and springs work and what values you get from what lifts and such. I don't get the Bilsteins with notches. I'm more visual. Would probably make sense if I had one in front of me.

Well, I would probably do the OME lift with dakar leaf springs. No spacers.

Unless the other guys can tell me if Bilsteins 5100 gives me 3 inches.

Bilstein 5100s give a max of 3" on aftermarket coils. 3" is the magic point where UCAs are a must.

I have Bilstein 5100s on my truck, but I'm rocking stock coils still so I'm only getting like 2-2.5 inches of lift currently, also because I don't have aftermarket UCAs.

I'd probably do a 2" and a 1" larger tire. Gain 2.5 that way if my math is correct.

If the everything goes right over the next couple months, UCA's could be purchased too.

    To you, maybe.

I don't have have much more to spend. 5100's or OME are perfectly fine to me, it seems. Maybe more in the future if I'm succeeding where I want to be in my career.

    Congratulations.

I'm making potential sales to be able to get me a lift kit, AAL's, and UCA's all in one go. I don't need bigger and better now. I need capability for reasonable prices with the commission I may earn.

    That's you, not me.

Don't tell me how to spend my money, lol.

Like I tell you all the time, buy it for me if that's what you want me to have.

5100s are good for what they do and affordable for what I need. I don't plan on making my truck a big tank, I want to maintain the look of the 2nd gen as much as I can. So I don't really need strong shocks right now. Maybe further down the road if I'm more financially situated.
