Sport also comes with a much better infotainment system, larger glass screen, satnav etc and much better interior trim. And the manual sports are cheaper than the auto sr5 (all other options being the same or similar)

I'm in the opposite boat.... I find manual trans a bit tiring in the daily commute.. weighing up going auto and gaining diff lock, MTS, Crawl control..

    Still stock completely capable!
When I’m on my days off I wish I had manual almost everyday. But a lot of days I’m driving 40-50miles all rush hour stop and go traffic and am thankful I did get the auto just for that reason. Manual is more fun but in traffic like that it’s horrible. It all depends on your needs and your commute these are the questions you really need to think about before a big purchase like this. Would I take the manual if I didn’t have to worrie about traffic everyday? In a heart beat. Where I’m at now couldn’t do it. When I’m able to get moved into the northern Canada area I will be getting another Tacoma (as well as keeping mine for the wife) and it will 100% he manual! Or a 2014 FJ but still manual LOL!

I can see your point with a commute. I have a work truck I drive everyday. The Tacoma is for weekends and road trips.

Off road package is over rated. The manual comes with the bigger axle. Get an ARB 232 and you are better off than every other OR as we are stuck with locker only in 4lo.
MT is nice cause it comes with 4.3 gears which are better for larger tires than the autos. Also having a six speed manual is badass. Clutch is light and a joy to drive.
