    Good morning everyone,

White anodize doesn't exist, not physically possible.
I found that out years ago so the only solution would be paint or powder coat.

repainting emblems is super easy and like I said before if you're not happy with the result you can strip off the paint and try again.

    Sure, I can do that.
So here's something interesting to think about.
Aluminum is porus, if I leave the aluminum bare and shot penned and touch it with bare hands the acid in my hands will transfer to the emblem and be noticeable.
    Steel rusts, aluminum corrodes.
I can work on your request but make sure you clean it well prior to paing, Isopropyl alcohol is what I recommend and using latex gloves.
I've had aluminum corrode underneath paint and powder coat, not fun when you notice the paint/powder coat lifting from underneath and bubbling.

Awesome, Should I order the raw or a specific option from your page and make a note with my order to remind ya?

And I used to work doing QC of raw, bead blasted machined aluminum parts before anodize so I have some experience handling it uncoated. I’m confident it’ll come out nice in the end!

@Andres , I got busy this weekend. I'll be sending mine either tomorrow or Wednesday.

    Front before, after two years.

    20190120_152128~2.jpg

    Back.

    20190120_152121~2.jpg

    Obviously a huge difference. :pout:

So I did the Easy Off oven cleaner, the heavy duty, with fumes version. Leaving it on for 15 minutes. I really coated it. I used a plastic container that I also use when I do PVC plumbing fixes around the house.

    20190120_152501~2.jpg

I was super skeptical after watching the YouTube videos because I had a lot remaining.

    20190120_155117~2.jpg

    20190120_155122~2.jpg

    20190120_155126~2.jpg

After the second coat the front was better but the yellow on the tips of the horns was still there. I went for a third coat.

Each time I was just rinsing with tap water.

After the third coat I freaked out. They were so tarnished I thought I ruined them. I used 0000 steel wool and dawn dish detergent and the tarnish came right off.

    20190120_171532~2.jpg

    20190120_171547~3.jpg

Except for the threaded holes, they were completely stripped of all anodizing!

    :taco:

But I didn't like the minute swirl Mark's so I used a buffing wheel in a drill (don't have a bench grinder, yet) and a product similar to something called Neverdull. It's a metal polish that removes imperfections.

I think the end result is incredible, and should definitely be ready to be redone.

    20190121_182027~2.jpg

    20190121_182031~2.jpg

I even have the original packaging to send them back in!

I can't wait to get them back!

Let me know what you think Andres. I will wait to hear back from you before shipping them.
    Thanks,
    Rob

    Outstanding!
How long do you think all of that work took?
I hope you used latex gloves

Ok, so I'll take that as, I am shipping them out back to you tomorrow. Most likely FedEx, and you will have them before the middle of next week. Maybe this Friday.

Normally I would bitch about how long it took but I enjoy learning how to do things like this. Now that the enjoyment of that is over though. It took freaking too long! Now, granted, I was doing other things while the easy off was sitting on them but if you add it up, maybe 3 hours total. Knowing what I know now though, I am sure it could be done in two hour or less. Keep in mind, the chemical has to sit on there at least 15 minutes. Your anodizer must be really good because on the web the coatings were coming off after one shot. Mine took 3 to make me happy. So that is 45 minutes right there. Add another 15 minutes each time to steel wool and rinse them, or 45 min, so now you are at an hour and a half. The last process of polishing took another 20 - 30 minutes. With a bench grinder I could have cut that time in half. It sucked using a drill.

Technically though, I could work them a little more with the polish and a buffing wheel on a bench grinder and make these look like chrome, shoot them with a couple coats of clear coat, and reinstall them. All for some of my time and like 7 bucks for the easy off.

Definitely want the horns on fire look though so they will be coming back. I'm kind of hoping to get a little more orange and less yellow and dark red this time if possible.

Thanks again Andres for a great product and working with me on this. I was really bummed but now I am happy again.
    Rob

Oh, yea, I wore gloves until I got to the steel wool part. I have band aides on three of my fingers, mostly from working out in the cold. Mine crack in the winter bad. But one finger is missing a little skin on the top from being a bull in a China shop..........

I only ask for reference in case other people may want to try this route.
I hate when people ask how long it took to machine my wife's wedding ring for example.
The ring is freaking gorgeous, I made it and that's the important part.
No one's going to be like "oh, 5 hours? that's impressive" or "15 hours? why so long?".
Usually people who ask have no clue what making something like this takes.
If Picasso were alive I would never ask how long it took him to paint Don Quixote.
If it took him two hours or two weeks it's the same to me, art can't/shouldn't be rushed.

Sorry if I sound annoyed lol, but yeah great job other people will have an idea about time.
Yes you can ship it back to me.
I don't know if you have fully cleaned it but don't worry about that the anodizers clean it thoroughly before anodizing.
They dip it in some type of cleaning acid and removes all impurities.
