I went with the MagnaFlow 10416 like you mentioned and I am loving the sound. The guy at the shop just had to add a few inches of pipe to make it fit. I did not realize how small that actually was. Fits nice and tucked away.

That's awesome, glad you're liking it. It's hard to capture the sound on video, but I absolutely love the sound of it, and I'm extremely picky with how exhausts sound. Great choice. :D

Can one of the Magnaflow mufflers be welded in with a MIG welder or is it made of something other than steel?

I would go with Magnaflow, Magnaflow or even something like a Flowmaster super 44. The MBRP sounds a bit odd to me

Just added TRD catback, it is perfect for me you know it's there but not much. I know there are a lot of folks that love the MBRP but I have seen where some have opted to remove.

Yes it can be. I tigged mine in, but it's Def easily done with mig. They're a lower quality stainless, so there is some carbon in the Stainless, making it need less heat than normal stainless, and flow a little easier. Don't go too hot in your first pass, enough to close the gap up tightly, then pass directly over your 1st pass with a slightly hotter pass and it will smoothen the weld out making it look nice. I just prefer a tig weld, as I'm a picky bitch.

The Flowmaster 40 sounded like ass, never heard the super 44 though. Flowmaster to me, has always sounded best on a V8, they don't do a V6 any justice.

Edit: get some of the Galvanized paint, comes in a can. Will prevent the welds from rusting, which will ride through the stainless causing it to rust. Better be safe than sorry, Def worth the $10.

I agree the 40 sounded good on my 4-banger, but not on this engine.

You should hear mine. I only put the super 44 box on and it sounds great. Really deep and gurgles well when it’s hot. Even when I’m WOT it doesn’t sound half bad. I couldn’t believe it for $100. The Super 44 is a bit different. Only drawback is the exhaust vibes that rarely occur in certain spots...if you pay attention that much

I’ll try to record it tomorrow if I remeber

Do you have the Borla? I found one a guy pulled off a 2018 locally for $300 so I’m considering pulling the trigger but I really don’t want a lot of cab noise or drone, just a little improvement over stock so I’m wondering if you can speak to this.

Thanks, I'll be picking up a can this weekend. I have an 43 mile drive each day and I love that when I go WOT it is loud even with the windows closed in the cab :) If I just cruise it is just noticeable. Family says it is not annoying while on weekend trips so win win all around :)

That's awesome to hear. :D I love the sound at WOT, but cruising at low rpm, it's barely noticeable. Yes, slight drone, but radio at 15 volume, overpowers the drone. Glad you're enjoying the exhaust system. :D

My experience with magnaflows is the sound is great but gets more drone inside the cab depending on the speed/rpm of the vehicle.

Majority of the drone with this muffler is placement of your exhaust tip. I had it exit right before the rear axle for about 3 days before I got the adapter made, and well, in highway, I couldn't hear my wife talking in the passenger seat (not always a bad thing) but was driving me crazy. I have my exhaust tip sitting almost even with the outside of my mudflap so it pushes all the sound out from under the Truck, and as Recon mentioned, I almost don't notice the sound now. Turn my radio on, and it's gone.... Though now I can hear the wife talking again. :p

Yea im not super sure about your claim as I have never messed with exhaust tip placement. Just my experience with them that at some speeds the magnaflow drone can be overwhelming where as the flowmaster I have never really encountered drone and various vehicles. Either way on a v6 flowmasters really suck regardless.
