switch means that it turns on the circuit with the power is applied.....example: when you turn the ignition on, it also allows electrical power to go to the fused circuit and turn on a light or smoother accessory......turns on and off......usually people will hook up things to a switched circuit it there is no actual switch to turn on lights......if they have or want a switch, the find a circuit that is 'LIVE' or always has power applied to it and control the lights with their added switch.....some people add the switch inside the cab next to the coin box on the left.....
    hope this helps

I just tried mine with the INJ setup. It works and the lights come on with ignition and turn off without delay. Seems like a winner.

Thanks for explaining what "switch", means. It's good knowledge.

No. Moved it to the headlamp fuse. Comes on with the lights. Stays on untill you shut the lights off with remote or they just go off automatically.

do you have to manually turn the lights on/off?........do they work using the "auto" mode

my application is that I want them to turn on/off with engine while keeping light switch in the auto mode.....the EFI 1 fuse works for this with a 5-8 second delay

No. They do everything automatically. They are only on when the headlights are on.

thats great.......i will leave mine in the EFI 1 fuse because I want them on when the engine in on....but for those who want automatic on/off with lights, that the way to go....good job!

EDIT: reason i need EFI 1 position is that I have tinting on windshield and the sensor gets filtered light and thinks it is dark when the sun is out...so when the lights are in auto, they go off and on......that would mean the raptor lights would go off and on....with them in the EFI 1 position, i can avoid this problem

Has anyone tinkered with wiring them to your parking lamps? (Side markers and taillights, but NOT headlights.)

how did you get thru the firewall? did you have to cut off the add-a-fuse and re-solder? did you replace the 10amp add-a-fuse with a 15a fuse for use in the power outlet 1

Where is the headlamp fuse located? In the cab or in the engine?

What was wrong with using the 10 ING?

If a person wants the grill lights on when the truck engine is running and/or the accessory is on no matter if the headlight is on or off in auto or manually controlled, would the 10 ING be the option to go with?

Basically I want the grill lights to come on when the truck is started and the accessory is on and stays on when my headlights are on and off and doesn't turn off until the the truck is off.

Hopefully I didn't confuse everybody or make things even more complicated.

It's in the underhood fuse box. First fuse closest to fender and battery.

I wonder if you mean the INJ fuse that is next to the EFI fuse? That works well if you want the lights to come on with ignition and turn off when truck is off. 10 amp fuse.

Yes...I meant the INJ fuse not the ING.

    Just getting started...
Yeah, something very similar in my situation. I've lived in England the last 9 years, and the area I live in within about 5-6mi of my house is very rural with lots of shi**y farm roads barely wide enough to call two lane (routinely wind up putting left side tires in the mud when I pass someone around the area I live). Couple this with long nights in winter, and perpetually wet and rainy conditions plus fog in the mornings/evenings and I'm simply looking for some added visibility on those twisty lanes. Don't get me wrong, I like the look of them as well, but that's just an added nicety.

When I tried the EFI1 position, the lights stayed on all the time. I might try again today with the ING and see how that goes.

Last night I'd just hooked up the grill lights to the ING fuse slot. It did what I wanted the grill lights to do, which was to turn on when the truck is either running or the accessory is on and it works just fine with the DRL, headlights and fog lights being on. It also turns off as soon as you turn off the truck.
