I'm due for tires soon. I very much want to just move to Toyo Open Country - really like how they look. Didn't know if that Tundra brake upgrade would be a necessary mod. I know I'd have to deal with the pinch weld. After cutting that hole for the dorkel, not really worried about it anymore lol

I have a set of the 4Runner wheels just sitting in a box waiting for a nice new Hyper Silver finish. Really liking this combo...

Yeah I had to trim a ton to clear my 33s and they still rub if I really stuff them...big ruts on trails are almost sure to make me rub. Sucks but I can't trim much more without cutting into the cab which I don't want to do. I'm also noticing I've rubbed the finish off of my frame on both sides where the tire is rubbing it on full lock.
Get 33s they said, it'll be fun they said...

Just finished installing new tie rods inner and outer, rack bellows, tension rod bushings, sway bar links, lower ball joint, I have new brakes to go in as well as lines but I need a hand putting the strut back in first. But the strut has a fresh cartridge, new top hat, new cover and bumper and I have a new grease seal for the wheel bearings.

    I'm tired AF

This car is going to drive like new and that has me excited at least. Time to tidy the garage.

Yeah, but my gut is saying that is the funk backspace of these unknown aftermarket wheels you have. I bet if you were closer to 4.5 BS you wouldn't have an issue. These 4Runner wheels are 4.625 as I understand it. Original SR5 wheels i'm running now are 4.5. Difference is negligible. On the other hand, Barto is running a 5.25 BS and that is why he had rubbing if he stuffs it or at lock. Those 2nd/3rd gen wheels just wont work well with our trucks. I know, I have a set of those damned 5.25 BS wheels. Hell, still trying to sell them. lol.

No too fiddly to do the rotor without the strut installed to hold it. I'll do that when I probably it back in. Brakes are a 15min job

If you are going to run 33s you're gonna want to step out from the stock 4.5 bs to about 3.75

So the stock wheels will still have issue as will the 4Runner wheels (they are even closer inboard)???

Stock Tacoma wheels are 4.5in bs and they will touch the frame with 33s and rub the inside of the pinch weld a bit. You have to step out a bit to get off the frame, then trimming is easier because it's closer to the edges

    thx for the tip.

great, now I have to look for another set of wheels. Hmmmm... Maybe stick with 265/75s then and still go with the toyo. Really don't want to go back to BFGs.

The toyos are nice, and you can run those wheels just put em out a touch with a spacer.

So wait, I'll still need to use spacers with these in 265/75s on my 4Runner wheel (4.625 BS)?

No I meant so you could run 33s. You can run 265/75 all day on stock BS

lol what i was thinking. Ok, will figure it out. Really don't want to do the spacers. Hammering away at the weld and trimming, no issue there. Changing wheels to a 3.75, ok can do but really like that 4Runner wheel. thanks again for the info.

The camera I ordered comes with a 16-55mm and 55-210mm lense. I really have no idea what that means, gonna have to check em out and see what I can do with them.
