I look every day myself, I'm in the market as well but there is literally NOTHING worth buying in central NH. Inventory is so low it's just insane. Everyone want's top dollar for their house or it's foreclosed and for auction. What exactly are you looking for? I have a realtor looking for me also, but I'm stuck on finding a bargain. Might have to suck it up and overpay just like everyone else right now. Beginning to look like I need to build but even land prices are out to lunch!!

I know, an inch of liquid precip predicted. FUVK!! Why can't I get a break! We finally get some snow that is worth a damn after waiting 3 friggin' years to and we are gonna get absolutely destroyed by rain Thursday. Seriously. And this is going to be a nightmare for the lakes, fishing is going to be a shit show.

I just traded from 18's to 20's on my F250. The 18's that came on it were 275/65R18 and the 20's that come stock are 275/65R20 so same sidewall height. Ride is a little smoother but I'm sure most of that is the change from Continental to Michelin but could also be partially because of the larger overall diameter just rolling over things easier. I think 20's are fine as long as you actually have some sidewall to absorb some bumps. I put 20's on the F150 also with a 55 profile tire and it made it feel a little less 'squishy' when towing. Otherwise, the ride quality was still very good compared to the stock 17's it came with. The roads in and around Boston are pretty chopped up also. Other than off roading where you'd want to air down and have some sidewall flex, I haven't found anything limiting about putting 20's on a truck. :notsure:
I'm surprised you know about, or would mention Willard. That's an overglorified hill but I have a lot of fond memories of that place. My high school ski club went there every week, lift tickets were dirt cheap and it was always a lot of fun.

Just wear your pajamas on the plane and brush your teeth before takeoff and you can get a nice 3 hr sleep:)

you just described the home search situation anywhere in Massachusetts east of sturbridge. Multiple people at work were house hunting and unless it was a disaster it was sold in days. Not even a chance to see the house and it would be sold

Yup . Last year people at work were offering $15k over listed to get a house due to buyer competition. Insane

A lot of my work at the moment is people deciding to build their own home on a piece of land (central MA). The market is completely empty right now for a non starter home - houses in the area are selling about $20-$30K over what I feel they are worth mainly due to low inventory. The wife and I have been kicking around the idea of moving - the price per square foot right now on a house for sale is enough to make a pipe dream look a little more realistic.

Most likely going the "build your own house" route. Modular homes have come a long way from the typical cubed shoe box and with how quickly new listings are sold means you will probably enter a stupid bidding war to move.

That's a bitch of a commute! As much as I'd love to live further west, there's no way I could deal with that kind of commute every day unless I had a lot of flexibility with my schedule / could work from home 2-3 days a week.

Freaking 2 acres of land north of Concord NH for 90k. This is insanity. Max, I've been doing this for about a year... it's not getting better, it's getting worse.

Yeah same here. We have about two years looking. Not going to spend more. Will have to settle for less and put some work in. The property itself is my focus these days

Yep. I cover a big area myself. I hit Norwood every now and then. Not too bad if I shoot for a 6 or 7 am start.
But, that is the new reality.
Too expensive to live in this region

There are definitely pros to smaller wheels and a taller sidewall (and I have to admit, I do really like the look of a tall tire on a small diameter wheel). If you have any inclination to take the vehicle off road, 20's are a pretty terrible decision. That said, the SD will be put to work, but will be a pavement pounder. It's way too big and clumsy to be an effective off road vehicle so, might as well look good at the mall :D

The 20's are actually a bonus for towing so I'm told. I'll just get stiffer sidewalls on my 17's.

Had an opportunity to try out my Cooper Discoverer Studded M&S tires in the snow/ice this past storm. They were great! While even with brand new AT's I used to need 4wd to back up my driveway, I didn't have this problem at all with these tires.

Why the Power Wagon over just a regular 2500? I like the looks of them but, for me, I'd be paying for a lot of features I'd never use.
They definitely are. I noticed a pretty good improvement when I went from 17's to 20's on the F150. Same tires, same overall diameter, only change was the shorter sidewall. Made the the ride feel less 'squishy' if that makes sense. Hard to describe, but the truck felt more planted when it was towing. Unloaded, I could make it corner a lot better also :D

I've been thinking about a Cummins with a 6 speed manual since 2018 will be the last year in that configuration... Bad decisions abound!

Finally got to LAX last night, after a 3 hour ice delay, then a sudden realization by Delta that they scheduled the wrong sized plane for us and my direct flight now had to land in Kansas to refuel... I finally made it to LAX.

The funny part was when they announced that the tow rig pulling the plane to the terminal got stuck on ice and they needed to get a recovery truck out to it...

Definitely will be calling Delta to file a complaint, I paid extra to get the non-stop flight.
