I finished installing my Spod and love it! Just need more accessories:) 5DB2DA54-57CC-4E39-8CA2-9C349778F9DB.jpg 192CC364-EACB-4A00-BA08-94CB4824BC87.jpg 8CFC6001-737A-48BA-9838-4FACD2926984.jpg
Used a thin metal plate, cut out the lower right corner big enough for the cable. Drilled a hole in the center of the metal plate just big enough for a bolt. Coupler on the back of the monitor to attach to the bolt on the back of the plate. Cut out two hard plastic pieces from a putty knife and drilled holes for the screws, the plastic pieces go over both ends of the metal plate to hold in place.

Nice setup. I've been contemplating picking up an Spod, but the $700 price tag is a little to steep. I plan to have at least 4 accessories wired in soon

Its basically a switch panel. You can get a touchscreen for it, or normal switches.

It sends signal to a box under the hood that then turns on the correct circuits. Allows you to run a bunch of lights and stuff without having to run 16+ wires through the dash to the switch panel.

If you are looking for a cheaper option, you can always consider the STech switch system. Can be found for usually $170

That's what I run and works as intended

If you are even a little saavy with electronics you can make your own remote switch control for the cost of an Arduino UNO, a BT relay module and either some switches or a touchscreen for under $50. And some programming elbow grease.

I'm about 12hrs into one that runs as an app on my phone to control a relay bank powered off the battery so I can operate things from onboard or in a tent nearby. I'll probably finish it one of these days unless winter ends abruptly. I might even do a write-up here if it ends up in the truck instead of the boat... but I think that might be a little redundant since there are about 50 DIYs for this sort of thing on robotic forums and hackaday projects all over the interwebs.
