Hey there, new to Tacoma world and need a bit of help. I recently did the budget audio upgrade with the Kicker CS and Subaru Tweeters and quite frankly I was disappointed with the result. Music definitely sounds clearer but is not any louder and seems to me like there is less bass, so I need help on what upgrade to do next, been thinking of doing the kicker hideaway but I’m not sure that’s gonna provide the results I desire. I’m looking for the most plug and play system there could be since I’m quite a novice when it comes to wiring as it’s something that makes me anxious. Thanks, look forward to hearing some suggestions

Gonna need amplification to get better sound. Dive in. You will get all the support you need to complete a decent audio build if you’ll be patient. I promise you can do it.

i agree, you need power. the speakers are secondary for you if you were disappointed with that. i'm running 900+watts on my front speakers alone and another 500+ on the sub. and it's not overkill.

If you have money coming out of your ears...Visit Oem Plus. Complete system. Plug and play ($2,000).

Since you already have the kicker tweeter & door speakers, I'll suggest to get the JL Stealthbox with the plug & play 5 channel amp, amp rack and wire harness from *********. That is what I have and I love it.

If your looking for budget friendly, your best bet is a under seat powered subwoofer. Its going to give you more bass, but not a ton like the jl box above.

Amping the speakers you just installed is also going to cost you and probably not give you the bass a under seat sub can.

Best advice I can give is to get 1 under seat sub, install it, but run wires for 2 of them (driver side and passenger side) Then if you need more bass, grab another under seat sub for the other side.

How much did that additional sub & amp cost?
    Did you install yourself?

I went the Taco tunes route for the amp and processor, very easy to install even if you have never done that type of work. Skipped the speakers and went Morell and JL. For the price and time invested I am happy.

I believe the amp was about $250 and the stealthbox was about $650. Yes is pricey, But it is made of fiber glass, sounds very good and looks like factory option. I did install it. It is not hard at all.

I did the OEM Audio+ kit (the higher end of the two options) and its incredible. I'd definitely do it again.

Go to crutchfield and look at the $100 Rockford Fosgate prime set for fronts and rears. I also did the tweets part of that kit as well and it sounds great, but you got the Kickers which are probably better

No amp needed. Just get the ********* adapters and crimp wire connectors and heat shrink. Also get the right speaker adapters (should actually come with crutchfield orders)

Watch YouTube videos by Tactunes. Plan install. Buy cheap set of auto wedges and pick tools on Amazon ($6 plastic). Take out old speaks. put in new nicer speakers.

    Jam out.
