Truck broke down last night and I told the driver I think it’s out of gas (had just under 1/4 tank) he said nope and wouldn’t put gas in it. The driver is contracted from AAA. Driver drops the truck at my house and today I add gasoline and what do you know, vehicle starts. I drive maybe 2 miles to gas station and fill it up. Get home and realize the driver’s hooks ruined BOTH my outer cv boots!!

Anyone gone through a claims process before?

They hooked around your CV? WTF.... I'm sure your gonna get a reply or two about just getting gas, but I'd be on the phone with AAA regarding the damage... sucks...

Wow. Sorry to hear that! You’d think the wrecker would just hook up to idk, your Tow Hooks?

He either hooked up to my cv axles or used giant hooks on the LCA.

Also the truck had just below 1/4 tank

The gauge got stuck which is why I ran out

This sucks, but I have a feeling it's going to be nearly impossible to prove that they had anything to do with this. No matter how many times you tell them they weren't damaged beforehand. I hope I'm wrong.

I hope so too. I have pictures of my front suspension 5 days ago and there is no grease. I witnessed the driver use giant hooks to the LCA. I have driven 2 miles since they dropped the truck off.

It is dead obvious it was the driver lol

Call 3a and file a claim. Driver used j-hooks, should've used s-hooks to the frame.

Tow hooks aren't rated for that kind of towing. Think of them as transport tie downs.

He needs to call now. Not wait. If he waits he's screwed

Oh ok. I thought perhaps the wrecker pulled him onto his flat bed. Thanks for the clarification!

The driver could've used sport j-hooks, not as wide of a throat on the hook. Or just used the proper equipment for the job. I've got 22 years as a 3a driver..

Yeah I saw him grab the massive hooks and though WHAT that’s going to rip the cv boots And totally meant to check when he dropped the truck but it was dark and cold so I forgot.

To be honest, I'm surprised the driver towed it. Most contractor's will say it's not covered due to modifications. Its shitty, but company's do that

Driver was lazy..theres slots in the frame that are reinforced for towing. They take a different type of hook.

Yeah but do you have a pic of that days paper in the background of that pic, ransom style?
I got stuck once on the edge of the road in the winter with a 2wd truck, out 15 feet from the shoulder and when one of the triple A guys showed up he wanted to hook on to my tie rod. I stopped him and I grabbed the hook and hit my lower control arm.
