When was the last time you went offroad and your driving skills were greater than the truck could handle/ frame flex caused you problems? Not a hack, just trying to see what your thoughts were heading towards. Its cool to have nice stuff but you gotta use the truck as it progresses to steer you where you want to go.

    Check out incstores.com

I'm a truck driver who picks up at the incstore warehouse in phoenix. I believe the main office is in Mesa. They have a massive amount of products, and they do custom cuts as well.

Leave the spare under the bed until it’s too big to fit there. Especially if you’re concerned about bed space. You’re 2wd, so you really shouldn’t be getting yourself into any situations where you are dragging the hangers to bend them unlike myself that’s trying to beef up mine after last weeks trail. And if you want/ need more frame rigidity you can have the frame boxed and add supports in front or behind the spare.

It’s more about my philosophy of “supporting mods” if I am about to drop some serious coin on a suspension. Far too often I see modders (in all communities) matching a high dollar part with a weak link.

I have outgrown the stock Bilstein takeoffs- the front shocks are not blown but they are clacking and don’t control the truck well enough.

I’m still trying to decide what to do about the rear leaf setup but I want to have as solid of a framework for the suspension to do its job, but not quite bed cage long travel type stuff.

But those parts won’t get covered in dirt, right? Cuz then they won’t look pretty

You already install those hangers? Assuming so since you say it made a difference.

Are you able to fabricate your own crossbrace? Im assuming you could make one with clearance for a spare tire under the bed.

They look prettier covered in dirt which is why I only buy ExpoAF™ brand dirt and put it on when no one is looking.

Not a whole lot of clearance and that is the spare 245/75r16 which is a hair smaller than a 265/70r16.

I guess I could probably get someone to do a tire-shaped hoop to clear maybe. Or just 45 degree gussets to the rear bumper frame.

I’ll have to crawl around underneath when I am doing the diff fluid, see if there’s any obvious way to clear it.

Just throw the spare on the hood like the old land rovers. You already got the retro vinyl, now complete the look.

60"x 16" x 3mm thick. 1 bend on each side long ways so that it ends up being 2" deep and 12" wide. No bends on the short ends. Doesnt have to be that specific thickness but does need to be strong enough to support a ~40lb tent mounted to 2 crossbars

I hear ya on the bed space thing. Moving weight forwards is actually less desirable considering the weight balance is already forwards. If I were really going full OCD I would find a way to mount it at the rear passenger corner to offset the battery as best I could.
But I think even I can say that's a bit overboard.;)

We'll see, I'll probably scrap the idea for the sake of simplicity.

While we're bullshitting about suspensions I wanna ask @Rextinkleton93 a hypothetical... Imagine 2 shocks of the same exact build quality and valving. One is a comp/rebound adjustable bypass and the other is a clicker. Would being able to adjust rebound be worth a couple extra hundo?

I might be a little unhinged because I am looking at maybe doing this? Makes my current 35s look small. :beavisd:

Tomorrow night I am hoping to put it on and see how much I am going to have to cut. Haha I just did it for the 35s a couple months ago.

I am not @Rextinkleton93 but, I think once the suspension is dialed in, you're not going to change it. You're not racing so there is not going to change ever weekend based upon conditions. I think that clickers would be adequate for loaded vs unloaded. But in the end, bypasses look cooler and if you feel better, go for it. I wish I would have gone clicker on my setup simply for ease. It's faster to dial clickers and to a known point each time without tools

edit: I don't have external bypasses either. I knew I didn't want to mess with them. It would have been wasted monies

George gonna lose it when he sees you DD 37s with zero lift.

    Regarding a spare....

Josh fit a 285x70r17 under his bed. He used a ratchet strap to keep it from rubbing the diff. His truck lives in dirt.

My 75r17 just floats in the bed. I used to run the Y strap and a tire cover with the last truck, more hassle than what it's worth.

Only time I strapped the tire in the 2015 was in Moab.

At the end of the day it's a tiny ass spare you're creating a mountain over. Just put it under the bed and move on.

Also, clickers or bypasses on a street truck? You need a new hobby to spend money on.

Edit: I really don't care what you spend your money on. It's your truck be happy.
