Guess I'm pulling that trigger NOW, on the rubber. Brake lines arrived today, installing tonight at the Honda dealer. (Friends work)

There's a set in silver in Bridgewater on FB Marketplace. The ad is a week old, but they might still have them?

C'mon, we all know you just want to brag that you're rolling on dubs.

I priced out a 3/4 ton just for fun since until this year you could get a stick with the diesel. I think I was over 60K and i wasn't even in the luxury models.

I really thought about going with bigger tires when I did my lift, but I was reluctant to run into cab mount interference. It seems like it's 50/50 depending on the specific truck. Realistic I'm not doing anything in it that would call for a chop, but that's the last thing I want to get involved in if I don't have to.

I'm toying with going 255 on my next set of snows if I get the urge to swap out wheels again. I kinda want to do a set of FJ steel wheels painted silver.

What would one expect to pay for some used armor. What questions should I ask

Coming off a 17 taco. His truck got torched.

The skids are MOBTOWN IFS, transmission, and transfer case( exhaust reroute) and sliders.

    Morning all

Flight ended up getting cancelled last night. Now flying to DC and then to Orlando getting there later this morning. Kinda sucks since I'll be missing the meetings I actually care about. Oh well

When I sold my sliders, I was something like 75% of what they cost new and I bought them during a Black Friday sale. Basically, the guy who bought them, got them at a discount, no shipping and they were already painted.

When you say his truck got torched, do you mean it caught fire or just got totaled? I can't keep up with the lingo you kids use these days :snicker: if it was wrecked, I'd be conconered they were all still straight and the mounting holes line up. Even if the truck wasn't totaled but the skids are 'well loved', you could fight with them quite a bit trying to get them to line up again. Lastly, make sure all a the hardware comes with them. Replacing all the grade 8 hardware can be costly.

If it's what I'm thinking, actually torched .There's a thread in the 3rd gen section about it

If the price is right get what you can off of him. He's a good guy. I met him and his wife (funny story) in PA before

Wow, didn't expect that. If that's the case, I wouldn't expect any damage to the skids (especially since the shocks are still good). Sounds like it was an interior fire that totaled the truck.

All this tire talk reminded me of when I went to "Town Faire Tire" when my '05 needed new tires. They sold me a set of Yokahamas. One day a year or so later, I noticed that my truck was sitting lower than the '04 Tacoma I parked next to. I didn't think much more about it until I bought a set of Cooper Discoverys from Rolands Tire. Right off the bat the truck sat higher. I compared the tires and found out that the Town Faire tires were for a passenger car (something like a 4 ply) while the Discovery's were 10 ply. SMH.

The kicker is, I towed my 16ft car hauler down to a car show in Charlotte along with a couple of trips to Carlisle on those tires... A friend bought tires for his camper at Town Faire and they did a similar thing. Put the wrong rated tires on and he had a blow out on the highway.
