Recently, I installed the 12voltsolutions remote start kit.

Due to some crazy work hours, I am leaving in the morning when it is still dark and then returning in the dark. Because of this, I do not switch my headlights to the off position when parking the truck. However I noticed today that when I remote start the truck, if I turn it off using the remote, the headlights stay on. I am concerned this behavior could leave me with a dead battery if I accidental remote start the truck.

I turned off the headlight delay feature, and this made no difference. Also, my truck does not have the premium package, so I do not have automatic headlights.

Any thoughts on if this behavior is expected?

    Thanks in advanced!

I make a habit to leave my headlights in the automatic position for this reason. Since you can't do that you'll have to manually turn your headlights off every time you leave the truck. I don't believe there is any workaround.

Didju leave a door cracked open? I feel like I did that once and my lights stayed on. I have the same package as you. Bare bones off road. Also, how do u turn off off the truck using the remote?

I use the factory remote and click the button three times. The door was not cracked open.

I didn't know that was possible. I've only ever started it tho. How long did you wait? The headlights do have a delay, something like 60 seconds.

They appear to stay on until a door is opened.

I will just have to be very cautious to not leave the headlights on.
