I’ve considered find a trade too, but I don’t really want to work my ass off the rest of my life either, I know it sounds bad but it’s true. I also don’t really want to be stuck in a cubical forever either.

Hoping my current major will be a good middle ground and allow me to make enough money it’s actually worth finishing.

Definitely don’t go get a 4 year degree or whatever in something that you’re not gonna make any money in (I know money isn’t everything, but it’s still important).

The only four year degree I have considered is Communications which is quite broad.. the underlying courses you must take to complete it are the most tolerable for me to do. English, speech, etc is my strong suit in school. Otherwise, if I don't have a specific interest for my career anyway, why would it be worth going through the time/money for the bachelor's... it isn't! (as you said).

    what major are you pursuing?

Environmental Engineering, I might see what it’d take to get a minor or double in Wildlife Management but haven’t decided if I wanna pile that much on myself yet.

The miracles of compounding interest. And God forbid you or a dependent has serious medical problems without good medical insurance.

Think my Roth IRA will serve me well? I'm currently 19, just put a few thousand into an IRA and planning to max it out every year if possible.

yessir. What job do you have now, should I do Communications (is it worth ) or just get like an IT associates degree with my internship's education award that would cover it.. since I don't have any keen interest for any specific field right now. Thanks

Currently I actually manage all aspects of IT at an office complex so I couldn't tell you which one is better haha. I do feel more prepared for various day to day situations from college though. I specfifxally went for Business Communications with a Leadership minor. Kinda sets you up to be useful in a variety of positions in a company. It helps me on a daily basis, especially with the business finance courses and organizational comm knowledge. IT stuff was a hobby that I've maintained over the years so it works for me in this case. But a lot of the IT positions out there will require Cisco certifications, and possible prior experience with any number of Microsoft Server or Consumer products which take a good chunk of time and money to acquire. I'd ask around and see if they're requiring a 2year or 4year for the jobs around you and see what the general requirements are, that may answer your question better.

Oh you must be doing quite well then for yourself haha. Yeah well I have been looking on indeed.com and many are "IT Technician" positions and just say they require a 2-year degree in relevant field or the same amount of experience in replacement.
