Being in Texas I must run a front plate so wondering what are good options for having a license plate on my new front bumper when none of the holes seem to line up to use existing hardware-

You could always drill the plate to fit the bumper holes... Looking at the tacoma bumper, there isn't a lot of real estate on there to mount one is there?

I technically don't have to run one in Utah because the dealer never drilled the holes in the oem bumper to put the screws, but I have mine tucked in the lower pax corner of the windshield as a "look Officer, I tried" effort. With a copy of state code printed out behind it if that doesn't work.

I went with the Cascadia4x4 front license plate flip up mount. works great and tough as nails. The fit is a tiny bit off because of a bend in the bumper but still great.

Yikes! Just don't get in a wreck. If the plate gets airborne it could kill someone. Or so my defensive driving instructor said :)

If I get in a wreck where the plate bouncing around the cab endangers me, I've got a lot bigger issues to deal with...like the 40 pounds of tools in the case behind the passenger seat, my heavy AF first aid bag, and my ski poles in the back. I know what you are trying to say though.

    This was my solution:

    IMG_20180423_154013.jpg

I redrilled the plate to match the stock hunk of plastic. Zero issues.

I do this on all of cars and mainly think it is stupid to have a big, flat piece where the airflow first hits the car. Just the aero in me.

Mine came un-drilled. Zip ties and adhesive-backed foam (on the plate). At first, I thought it'd be temporary, but it seems to do the job, so...
