Mahomes played one year with massive talent and minimal game tape for defenses to scheme against him.

He played far above his talent level this year. I’ll gladly eat my words if he continues to tear it up, but I saw far more of him hitting wide open receivers than him making insanely tough reads and throws.

    Some really cool shit
And yet you still come in here with that lane ass assertion that Mahones is better. It’s amusing as hell how much you impress yourself.

To be expected of a first year starter throwing 50 touchdowns and 5,000 yards. He improved drastically as the year went on as teams started getting more film on him. They confuse him, then he confuses them. Point in case, Ravens regular season game and the 2nd half of the AFCCG.

    Definitely will be better.

It's amusing how people assume a player like Tom Brady is a one of a kind thing and there's no such possibility of another talent like him or better emerging.

Again, he played with exceptional talent around him. Mahomes wasn’t confusing anyone.. and I’m not sure how you can even make that statement that a rookie QB is confusing 8+ defenses. Not subscribing.

Ravens were exposed for who they were.

I'm a Niner fan :( but I appreciate up and coming talent. I like Mahomes. I think he's got the potential to be something special. He's only 23

I make that statement cause I watched every play of the Chiefs offense. I watched all the stunts that the Ravens pulled to confuse Mahomes. He learned and he adapted and he came back and won. Patriots confused him and shut him out for an entire half, he learned, he adjusted, and he came back and beat their asses for OT. Patriots just got lucky on a coin flip for the win. I've seen him make smart decisions and I've seen him make bad decisions. His smart decisions far outweigh the small bit of the bad I've seen.

He's also not a rookie QB. He's a first year starter that performed far better than Tom Brady in his first full year starting.

Tom Brady 2001: 15 games, 2,843 pass yards, 18 touchdowns.
    Patrick Mahomes 2018: 2018: 16 games, 5,097 pass yards, 50 touchdowns.

Tom Brady is not one of a kind. The torch will be passed and it will be glorious. Tom Brady knows it, that's why he went to talk to Mahomes in the locker room after the game. A legend respecting an up and coming great.

Roethlisberger had a superbowl ring his first year as the starter.

Yes he did. I wouldn't put Ben & Brady in the same class at all.

Went in as a rookie during game 3 and ended the regular season 13-0, losing to the pats in the AFC championship.

Good company to be in, hope he can keep it up.

My opinion best QB was Marino, broke every NFL QB record of the time on a team that never won the SB.

Stands to reason we'll be in the Superb Owl next year!

    I hope he can too.

Unfortunately, as Mahomes and the Chiefs found out a couple of times this year, raw QB talent will only take you so far. You need talented receivers, too, which he was also lucky to have this year. Not to mention a solid O-line and a good defense. But, if the Chiefs hand Mahomes a $200 million dollar contract, that's going to have a serious impact on who they can keep on the roster in terms of a supporting cast. Part of the reason that the Patriots have been so successful for so long during the salary cap era is that Brady has taken repeated pay cuts and contract restructures to free up salary for the Pats to go out and buy talent in other positions on the field. The idea of the Chiefs giving Mahomes a big pay day is a HUGE limiting factor on the potential of this Chiefs Dynasty that you're so excited about. :notsure:

I think there's probably several clubs dedicated to that, these days.

Yup. Look at the NHL and what the Oilers did with McDavid.
