Jebus that's a lot of dough for a Tacoma!
Most P-rated tires in the stock size for a Tacoma are still rated for well more than anything a truck that size should be towing / hauling. Town Fair replaced the tires with the same load rated tires it had from the factory (P-rated). Roland's tire is the one that screwed up, imo, there's no way they should put E rated tires on a Tacoma without the owner of the truck knowing and specifically asking for them. My F150 came with P-rated tires from the factory, as long as you keep them properly inflated for the load you're moving, they're perfectly fine for light duty trucks.

I don't mean to throw stones, but do people generally not check the vehicle over when it leaves the shop? Maybe I'm just OCD but anytime someone touches the truck, I reset the tire pressures, make sure all the lug nuts are torqued down and I can't imagine not talking about the load range of the tires during the purchase since it's usually a cost-driver. :notsure:

The amount of stuff I could do to my truck with a $47k cap. I did $32.2 for mine. So call it $14k.

I'd be on 35s, lifted, armored, tent, heated seats, and a WinDixie air horn for good measure.

Then I'd cash out the rest in $1's ....for ...you know...

I agree. I could not bring myself to buy a pro for $47k. There was no "market adjustment " on the window sticker.

I had a motorcycle dealer put a different size front tire on because that's all the had. I was like wtf that's not how this works, I asked for a specific tire and specific size. Plus they scratched my rims when they did the install so I was already pissed.

That's pretty messed up! When I had road bikes, I had a great mechanic out in NY that I always used. Now, I only have a dual sport so I can swap my own tires. Hopefully, this one will never have to see a mechanic although, I'm still drooling over a big bore kit for it... May need to enlist the aid of a machinist for the bore.

I know a few engine builders if you need a recommendation. I used to race professionally a few years back.

Thanks! I will certainly take you up on the recommendation when the time comes. Realistically, I'm a few years away. The bike's a '99 DR350 and runs well so I'm not in a hurry to dump a bunch of money into it. It's not fast and probably not good looking to some, but it's a fun toy to get me out on 2 wheels. There are good quality kits to bump it to a 385 or a 440, just some assembly required.

Yes. I actually have 285/75/16's and they are good. 285/75/17's would just be an inch taller so they should be even better
