Mine does the same exact thing. Doesn't "click" in. Just sits there and comes loose eventually.
Not sure how to fix that.

Alright. I pulled it out to check on it and now not only will my backup camera not work. Now I have ZERO sound from my head unit. No Music. No Beep noise when you touch a button. Nothing!

A lot of plugs back there, you sure you put them all back?

I tightened everything and it's all working good so far. But if it does it again i'm ripping it out.

I did a quick search but I thought there was only 1 anytime cam mod. Can you remember the name so I can do a better search? I thought his site was still up unless I missed something but looks like I need a new option for this. I have a front cam in route shortly

He has a website anytimebacupcamera.com. There's a thread of the same title here. It's in the third gen section but I'm pretty sure the kits work with second gens too.

This thread is in the 3rd gen section.

That’s the website I have saved though, I thought I missed something

Edit: I guess I just got lost somewhere

Nope, this thread is in the third gen section. I'm the lost one, hope you get your kit.

Hey guys I just got this small toggle switch and I wanted to swap it with my old one. What wire from the head unit area would be the "rear camera".

I asked a similar question in another thread and just hooked up that same switch a few days ago. This is how I wired it up:

Black wire from override harness goes to red switch wire.
Red wire from override harness goes to orange switch wire.
Red wire from relay goes to green switch wire.
Black wires from relay and switch need to be grounded.

Big thanks man for the quick response I was able to rewire and hook up this switch.

Do u find that every once in a while the rear camera switch doesn't engage unless you hit it just right? Could that be the wiring or the switch? Or both? The front cam flip switch works fine everytime.

No problem! Another member helped confirm that's how he wired his, so I wrote it up in hopes that it would help someone else. I looked back on it a few times while I was wiring my own to make sure I had it right.

I haven't had any issues with my switch not engaging for either front or rear cameras. It will briefly show the rear camera after switching the front camera off, but that's expected with how it is wired up.

Yeah, it's odd. If I hit it quick with just the tip of a finger it's like it engages halfway through the flip then when it makes the full flip down it disengages. But if I hit with my full thumb it will engage.

Yea I was wondering if that was normal “seeing the rear camera for a split second after disengaging the front” I’m running separate switches btw.. both my switches light up on the actual switches when I engage one or the other.. kinda minor but maybe the way it’s wired..
this was definitely not the easiest mod for sure...

    Any input TW
