I'll just do things in bullets since it's easier to read:
    • Recirculating aka using a return
      • Only a positive thing if the heater doesn't overheat. If it overheats and shutsdown too often, soot can be built up by multiple on and off cycles.
    • Drawing air from the outside
      • you're wasting a ton of fuel (a 2kw unit will act like 500w) but might be best for the heater if airflow in and out of the heater is obstructed.
      • runs the risk if sucking in CO in exhaust if the wind blows the wrong way
    • Fitting heater externally
      • The heater isn't water proof, you're going to have to make an enclosure if external.
      • Aluminum or steel sheet is cheap. use that w/ some rivets or rivnuts if you want maintenance access.
      • get a swag offroad pressbrake kit to bend your sheet metal
    • 2kw and 5kw unit lotto
      • you're not guaranteed either unit since they're just sending out units at random.
      • Sometimes -- 5kw units are rebadged as 2kw units
      • Sometimes -- 5kw units are badged as 8kw units
      • Sometimes -- 5kw units are badged as 5kw units
      • Always -- 2kw units are badged as 2kw units
      • 5KW units rebadged basically have diff fuel settings
      • larger combustion chamber of the 5kw but set at 2kw doesn't get as hot as it needs to be to run soot free.
    • Running conditions
      • run at full blast w/ diesel in general if possible
      • if running at lower power (Choose one)
        • Use half and half kerosene/diesel
        • run a kerosene tank every 2 diesel tanks
        • run straight kerosene (2.9% hit in heat output)
        • also take time to tweak the settings so that it burns clean at lower setting. Examine the exhaust every few tanks to see if any soot. If there is, it's probably sooting in the combustion chamber badly
        • An indicator will come on when glowplug is being supplied current (120w). usually this is when the combustion chamber is too cold to ensure a complete burn. Keep the temps high by recirc and the glow plug should only come on at startup and shutdown. It will consume about 6w startup 6w cooldown.

Got to see some of the prototype parts while I was there and it really does look like its going to be beefy. They're planning on doing a half cab rack too. Color me excited.

I just checked the site after some time and it says orders placed now will only begin production in a year. Dang! Is that really the case??

Nope - Fake News. All the complaining about timelines in this thread was a single person with a bunch of fake accounts. They have tons of campers in stock for almost every truck available, with free 2-day shipping to most parts of the country and 1 day helicopter drop delivery if you're in 200 miles of their shop!

Yes. There are about 400 ahead of you if you ordered today. 130ish completed, 525 total orders. The rtt’s look like they have an 8-10 week wait according to Instagram.

It’s no wonder they don’t post in here anymore.

It seems like they’ve built a few that aren’t on the leaderboard for marketing purposes but for the most they they are sticking to the order on leaderboard.

I’ll gladly wait an extra week or two for mine because of some promotional ones. I want them to do well so they can keep building more cool stuff.

I’m still waiting for the insulated tent. Looked like the dark grey one Wiley was rocking might be a prototype?!?!?
