10th Annual South Padre Island TacomaWorld Meet - 07/20/2019

HELLO ALL!!!! Here we go again!

Put it in your calendar - July 20th, 2019 (a Saturday)

I honestly can't believe we are going 10 years strong this year! Who would've ever thought that one simple little post nearly 10 years ago would help bring so many awesome people together???

We've made it this far, let's see how big we can make it???

You guys are already posting ideas on last year's thread so lets keep the ball rolling here, in this year's thread!!!!! 2019!!!!!

Jerseys, patches, decals, keep it coming! With my current husband, dad and two job roles I honestly can't take the lead on any of those things so anyone willing to do so would be much appreciated. I'll keep the OP updated along the way as to who is helping with what to help keep us all in the loop.

Sooo from here on out it'll just be copy and past for the regular information (by the way - if any of this info needs updating or a better breakdown, please let me know so I can change it. )

As always, any Toyotas are welcome to join!!!!!

Quick side note: once we arrive outside the entrance to the beach we should time ourselves (15 minutes) to take pictures/video of all of the vehicles lined up ready to drive into the beach.

If you're not going to be able to make it, please don't post any comments saying so. I'm not trying to sound rude or offensive, but when people post things like "Well, I can't make it out because so and so... ...take lots of pics guys!!!" it takes away some of the positivity of the thread.
Like I said, I'm not trying to be rude, just honest.

Request the day off if you think you might work that day.

For those of you in the SA area, you can ride out that same morning, preferably no later than 5:30 am from there:

I'm sure most of the people from the SA or surrounding areas will probably leave 1 or 2 days ahead of time so no worries.

BUUUUUUUT since that might not be convenient for everyone you can always just hit the road and either meet up somewhere along the road/at a stop or at SPI

From there we'll drive down to the Corpus area and meet with the guys and or gals from there in an area:

From there we'll ride down and stop in Harlingen to refuel (there is a Bass Pro Shop where we'll meet) and meet up with more people in that area if they haven't already headed to SPI. From there we'll head out to Port Isabel and get everybody together in the Walmart parking lot and wait for about 30-45 minutes for any stragglers and buy stuff for grillin'and beers and chips and what not...





So

5:30 Leave SA -5:45 am the latest - (For those leaving the SA area that morning)

7:30-7:45 Leave Corpus area after meeting up with the tacomaworldlings from there. Meeting at the Walmart at this address :

Corpus Christi, TX 78410


9:30-9:45 Arrive in Harlingen, maybe refuel there. Meet more tacomaworldlings there. We'll meet in the Bass Pro Shop parking lot in Harlingen, wait for about 15-20 minutes for any stragglers.

10:30-10: 45 Arrive/ meet everybody in Port Isabel walmart parking lot, buy any last minute things…

11:15 leave together for SPI then regroup outside of Access 5 before going in.



With 2-3 stops between SA and SPI that timing sounds about right.

Here are some shirts that have been made up by @Wixo for this 10th Annual Run:

The cut off date for ordering is May 31st. When checking out it gives you the option of picking it up or having it shipped out to your address. If you have questions please tag @Wixo or PM him so that he can address them.

If ordering kids sizes, The kids sizes appear as follows 45, 68, 1012, 1416. They should be 4/5, 6/8, 10/12, 14/16. The system doesnt allow for the / to come out

yahoo! ive got connections with a decal guy, we just need to come up with a logo/idea for what we want the 10th annual to look like!

 

Since this is the 10th one we should look at maybe doing a collection and give that to a loca charity...thoughts.


@ChadsPride lets get as many of the TTC members to go to this event...?

If we come up with a logo, maybe some patches could be made...? How much lead time do you need?

 

I understand that this idea was brought up during the meet last year but I don't necessarily think it might be the best idea.

Please hear me out, I created this ten years ago with the soul intention of bringing people good people together to just have a good time on the beach.
If we were to go through with a sort of collection/donation through here and if somewhere down the line the collections/donations ended up being "misplaced/misused" or anything of the sorts, I would HATE to have this thread, my name and everyone involved in this thread all rolled up into one giant fiasco or in any sort of legal or financial trouble.

Now, I'm not saying it's going to happen because the chances of something shady happening are about 0.0000000001%, I am absolutely not saying that anyone here has bad intentions, I would rather just not invite the possibility of anything bad happening with the collection/donation of any money to any charities.

I realize we may have gotten to the point where we, as a group of people, might make good things happen but I just don't want to go down that road, in the off chance of something bad happening.

If you guys want to make any collections, I kindly ask that you please not associate it with this meet anything related to this meet. I hope this doesn't put anyone off. At the moment I have too much on the line to allow anything bad to happen that would tarnish my record, no matter how small the risk.
