Archery. I know some of you out there enjoy it. I do. Specifically, Traditional Archery. No cams, no releases, no sights.
I've shot a 60lb Howard Hill longbow for years, made my own arrows, shot targets - still and moving, shot aerial targets, hunted a little - but I'm no hunter, I've killed (and butchered) my share of animals but I don't enjoy the killing as much as just being out in the fresh air and the sight of an arrow flying through the air.

Regardless of that point. We are in the process of downsizing our house and belongings. Down to the point of not owning a house eventually.

In that respect I have a small collection of archery related books and magazines I'd like to give to someone with a similar interest. These are all Stick and String Traditional Archery related. Books about Howard Hill, hunting, How To books on building your own equipment.

I do not gift these lightly, i'm looking for a traditionalist, one who loves the smell of a cedar arrow, knows (or wants to know) the feel of a spoke shave fine tuning the shape of a bow, knows the sound of a flu flu flying up to a target overhead.

If one of you has a love of Archery let me know. I will gift these to you.

You just can't have my bow and arrows though, I'm keeping those....

That is a very generous gift James. After dedicating most of the last 30 years to archery until my shoulder injuries I understand what a valued part of your life it can be. If nobody here is interested let me know and I'll reach out to some folks.

You betcha Bud! I believe Blue Ridge Archers is a traditional now. When I was in it was mixed but I believe it's all traditional now.

Awesome gift for someone. I haven’t shot traditional in years, otherwise I’d be all over it. My father in law always tells me I need to get rid of these training wheels.

There’s a big difference between hunting and killing in my mind, too. Some of my favorite hunting trips have ended with the truck bed as empty as it ever was.

Also a little up date on me. Retired the green first gen and bought this 2011 Trd off road dcsb 6speed. Starting my overland build over completely. Already have a rtt bed rack and tent. Lift and tires coming soon. Then of course armor at some point.

And welcome! We have not been nearly as active as the NOVA thread but there is a good group here. @Wild Crow , @buyobuyo , @TacoFMS , @Saltydawg , @Choco_Taco , @TaKoToy , and many others. We are so spread out as I mentioned earlier it has been impossible to get a mod day together. @Demo man is also right in town and we have guys like @dapetik in Barboursville @Cody23 in C'ville. Buyo Buyo and Wild Crow are down in King George. I haven't been as personally active in the last year or so as I should be.

BTW everybody Old House just opened their brewery so now it's a winery, distillary, and brewery and soon to open a pub. I went yesterday and they said they would love to have us so maybe a meetup at the pub on a Saturday.
