But I don't think Mahomes is going to throw his teammates under the bus to get the MAX deal. I think he will be reasonable. If not, I'm sure he'll structure like TB over the years. Your upbringing can mean everything, even if it doesn't pan out the right way.

Yeah, I don't agree with Bell sitting out and losing money in order to get the max money. That's just dumb. Show teams you still have what it takes so when you become a FA, you're guaranteed that teams will be looking at you and potentially offering big bucks. But as a guy who is a scary threat as both WR/RB, he should get paid very well.

 

He took a lower deal two years ago by taking the franchise tag. I think the numbers were something like 12 for the tag and 17 for the contract. He then sat out on a 14.5 tag.

Someone will offer him a similar deal I imagine, but with more guaranteed up front. Steelers weren’t willing because of the aforementioned issues. Whoever does sign him to a sizable deal will be taking sizable risk, and honestly, perhaps a slightly above average back if he isn’t running behind a stud line.

 

Should be interesting to see how that plays out.

I seen that Jarvis Landry was trying to recruit AB and LB off to the 49ers. That would be amazingly hilarious.

 

Kittle was, too. Jerry Rice is really pumping it as well. No reported talks between teams. I don’t see him being off the Steelers next year unless they get two first rounders. Don’t wanna play against him.

True that the depth isn't there like some divisions nowadays..it was better 20 years ago, and not just because Indy was still there. Not really Tom's fault though.

Granted it means he may get in the playoffs more often, but this stat/table just blows my mind..

I agree NE has no competition in their division but NE is not playing division opponents in postseason. The numbers speak for themselves, 9 SB appearances and 5 wins....(maybe a 6th). I do not hate NE but I just would like to see other teams knock them out more often. It gets old for fans (NE fans excluded) to see the same team. I do appreciate the dynasty, especially in this free agent era.

 

EXACTLY on the playoff wins. Making the postseason and losing right away would be one thing, then maybe I'll buy the argument that it's the division that overinflates their success.

 

How about getting eye tests, and training the one the got.
