No one but me did the high side - why there were not sliding tracks until I got done.

Looks like PINS to me. Which of course, varies greatly year to year, week to week, storm to storm. I fully would not expect to be towed - thank you tho. If the trek on SP is not a lot different, I can hold my own with 2WD (1WD). SP looks like it's more beachy to me, which is generally firmer, and less need to slide. If the 2WD slipped into soft sand higher up, he'd have only one driving wheel - depending on which way he was going - trying to grab sand or beach mud is difficult when not level.

Looks to me, like you stay on the path, not much to fear unless the whole beach has gone to heck.

have a very basic recovery kit got for HF adventure. will try to find you the link. Certainly could improve it.

One the way back to camp with Matt, and on the way out, no tracks to be seen, which is why I scoped it out and tried it. If it was all rock, and not mud, maybe we just didn't see them. We both thought that was a better choice for me leaving, because of that angle on the trail.

    You got it :D

As far as recovery kits go, straps, shackles, and a jack go a long way.

4WP has a great bungee strap for cheap.
Shackles are cheap at Lowe's and the exact same thing as 4WP.
A hi-lift is a great addition if your truck sits higher.
I've heard the Smittybilt hi-lift is basically the same and all the accessories work the same, it's like half the price of the same size hi-lift.

Everything else is a good addition and icing on the cake.

Stay tuned. My plans for trouble is to give you many beers if I need a jack like that.

I keep all my stuff under and behind my back seats. What kind of storage does the access cab have? If you keep everything rolled up tight it doesn't take up much room. I'll snap you some pics tomorrow.

Great idea, especially if you get straps muddy.

I put black trash can bags in my gear just to put the wet muddy stuff in. Then clean later at home.

Those are cool. Curious how strong they are. I wonder if they would bend if you throw a bunch of logs in the bed.
