Just go slow with brake clean and it will be easy to find ur leak. Sounds like vacuum leak. Can only be from the maf to the heads. Not a big area to check

So if i spray the cleaner and there is not a vacuum leak there, then the idle will not be affected right?

Correct. If there’s a vacuum leak it’s sucking in air. The brake clean will stop the leak and will change how it idles.

Scott only wants stock ECUs to piggy back the Ucon nowadays and that is pretty unfortunate. Back when everybody had the TRD reflash, you could easily take out the ucon and find out whether or not the ucon was the culprit first off the bat. I think the 7th and the 455s are plenty for fuel. I’d only get the bigger injectors for e85. Didn’t all the problems start after having the 61s installed? @rjbiii

Yessir all started after bigger injectors went in. That's why im leaning towards a vacuum leak or bad o-ring/gasket. Everything had to come apart and then i was in a rush to get it all back together to be ready for my appt with Scott for the retune. Probably something simple, just gotta take it apart to find it

Just this past weekend after i had everything apart. Im sure ill find it though, seems like the rough idle is definitely related to the problem

Appreciate it man, yeah the size of the state of tx kinda puts a damper on that. Wish there was someone in my area that was boosted. Truer words never spoken sir, couldn't agree more

@Roostfactor sorry this has turned into rjbiii's troubleshooting thread :anonymous:

No worries. @loginfailed had a great idea of a possible problem...if you guys tightened the sc supports (drivers side) before the lower intake manifold to sc bolts then there could be a leak between the lower intake manifold and sc.

Yeah i am starting to think that could have happened in the haste to finish up. I think i may have tightened up the side ones first. We were having an issue getting the front bolt on the side bracket to line up (and we never took the bottom bolt loose on that), so something isn't sitting 100% perfectly..

I think that was the bracket that I noticed didnt have a bolt in it when we installed your headers so I put one in.

The following are installed showing the clearance at various points.
    luck 13.jpg installed.jpg Clearance.jpg clearance 2.jpg clearance 3.jpg clearance 4.jpg clearance 5.jpg

There is great clearance at every vital point. The only concern on a 5th Gen T4R is with a flex, cat and resonator, there is not a lot of length back to the muffler so we cut down every piece to save as much length as we could. Roost did an awesome job and put a piece of pipe beneath every connection from the flex to the resonator for structure. I have the Thermo-Tec to place over the tranny and where the wires to come out for the inverter but don't show it here.

I just love the way is sounds and the throttle response is excellent as well and the overall increase in drivability, especially being NA.
