    I think the most miserable walks of my life were the quarter-mile walks from the parking lots down the pier onto the ship in the morning while it was raining in December with 20kt sustained winds.

    I had a friend that worked on dry docked ships in Portsmouth and he said winters were brutal. No heat. Said the would heat up steel plates with the cutting torch because the decks are treated and they couldn't heat them up. Of course this was a long time ago. Things are likely better for you guys now.
