Hello, I've dug through the forums a bit, but never seem to find what I am looking for.

I'm adding the bed stiffeners to my truck. What is the best way to protect the bare metal holes from rusting? I've used Rustolium on other projects in the past. What should I use on my 2019 Tacoma that would be nearly as good as original (nothing is as good as galvanizing, right?)

    Thanks in advance!

I used those rustoleum color matched touch up paint pens you can get at Oreilly's or autozone. I just chose black.

If the holes are not seen I use galvanize paint when ever I drill metal.

Any cold galvanize paint will do. I got a spray can from NAPA. I just spray a small brush and coat the edge of the holes.

I grabbed a can of Rust-Oleum black auto primer that I had in the garage, shot some in a dixie cup and then painted the bare metal edges with a lil' Testors model airplane paint brush. I always keep a few around for touching up steel bike frames, guitar projects, etc.

Metal etch primer, then top coat. Good to go.
