    Fun fact the 4-runner 4.10 (39 ring 9 pinion ) has a different tooth count then a tacoma 4.10 (41 ring 10 pinion)

If you have not found a 4.10 yet I have one out of a 97 Tacoma for sale

    Does it really? Huh. Neat.

I’m running a 1996 4Runner front differential in my truck. Was next to impossible to find a front diff in 4.30 from a Tacoma.

Mods: I was supposed to keep track? I'll make a build page some day. Don't hold your breath.
Or, another option, leave the ADD attached and functional then just swap the outer CVs.

Some will argue the added benefits of keeping the ADD are that you can lock and unlock 4wd from the cab with the hubs engaged. I guess it will differ based on what type of shifter for your transfer case (mine is the push button 1st gen). With the hubs free you can unlock the ADD and stop the axles from spinning. The fuel mileage benefits are also arguably marginal and would take thousands of miles to break even.

I’m curios what someone would argue the benefits of swapping out the ADD for the manual extension housing are and why it’s a must as appossed to leaving it functional.

it's possible to use an ADD diff on a manual hub truck, you just need to hold the actuator in place, which is pretty easy. I found this video really helpful when I was prepping my diff for my 4wd conversion
