i was at the shop getting snow tires installed and the mechanic parked my truck and I was watching it and the lights would not go off. I had to manually go in and turn them off.
Now I know they go off if the lights are in auto because it has done this but I was not aware how long they remained on.
Is there a way to shorten the cycle? I did a search on this and it went to 2nd Gen. and I was told about it. I just did a search on the forum to see if this was covered so I do not see repeat threads.
Not sure what the mechanic did to have the lights stay on so long, A good 5 mins. Before I went in and shut them manually, the keys were out and in park and the lights were on auto. If this is a problem I will take it in, 2019 SR

It's a work in progress. See my build thread.
Its under the vehicle settings on the head unit in the dash, if I am recalling correctly.

If the switch is moved after the truck is shut off, I believe they will turn off in 20min to save the battery. If the knob is left alone, truck shut off, and the door is opened and closed, they should shut off with the time set in the settings menu.

You can adjust the interior lights had head / parking lights separately.

Locking it has an effect. This is just from my observations with them always left on auto.

Engine off, get out, leave unlocked - they will stay on for some time. Minutes+ if not indefinite. I've never tested exactly how long.
Engine off, get out, lock once - they will turn off in like 30 seconds after locking.
Engine off, get out, lock twice - turn off on second lock.

The bigger question is when we close the refrigerator door, does the light really go out?

Yeah but only after you start driving. If you crank it in Auto and stay in park/neutral they won't be on. They turn on once you put into drive and start moving.

In mine, DRL lights are dimmed until I release the parking brake, might be out of Park in AT though...

Hm interesting. In mine they're off until I put it in gear. I don't know about the AT. Can only speculate on it.

You turn the truck on with lights set to “Auto” but you literally need to shift into 1st to get them lit? I stay in neutral and roll down the driveway into 1st and the lights immediately come on when I release the hand brake...
