    Hey all!

After having my Readylift SST (3F/2R) installed (just for looks, I don't off-road my truck), I'm having a driveline vibe between 5-15mph only under initial acceleration(initial inertia?).

I also had the ECGS done at the same time, so I'm not feeling anything in the wheel, but more like under my seat, towards rear of truck, so I'm guessing maybe it's the DS angle etc.

That said, I also did NOT have the Diff Drop that was included installed, as Readylift states on their site not to do so with a Crawl-Control enabled truck.

I've ordered the Old Man Emu "Carrier Drop" spacer kits that I'm hoping will resolve this issue, and just wanted to throw this question out here and see what you guys thought.

I have NOT put new tires on it yet(still on Original Wrangler Kevlars@at12,400mi)because after reading all the threads about vibes, I wanted to assure I have NO VIBES before I throw in another "variable" like new tires.

Fortunately I only drive 3.5mi to work everyday, so hopefully nothing is going to "break" before I can get this resolved. I'm supposed to take the truck back to the installer at 500mi for retorque of everything, which will likely be week after next when I hit that 500mi since install in early Dec.

Also, everything still seems to work fine, I engage 4hi every weekend on long straight 10mi stretch of road to meet/exceed the 10 mi. per month Toyota recommends.

Just wanted to know your thoughts...

Low speed vibes usually indicate a cb alignment issue. Don't be surprised if you need to add washers to your cb drop kit. I have the cb spacer and washers to get the alignment right.

I had a vibe at 10 mph. You're not going to break anything so don't worry about that.

Is your rear block tapered? If not, 2 degree shim is needed.

That would(should) typically cause high speed vibes. I have an axle shim and still had low speed vibes.

Once you start fiddling with the suspension though, anything is possible. CB drop is an easy thing to try first though.

I contacted headstrong about getting the 3degree shims, but they are sold out.

Should I go that route before messing with the carrier drop kit? Since the 3deg is sold out should I get the 2.5 or the 3.5?
***EDIT*** Na8rboy says 2degree, so maybe thats what I need instead of 3deg?

Should I go somewhere else to get them?

Oh yea, my blocks are tapered, high side to the rear of truck...

If tapered block, shouldn't need shim. Try CB drop first. Also, what LT. Dangle mentioned on adding to CB drop. I made my own which was thicker than, old man emu's

Just go buy a stack of washers from Lowe's and stick in about 3/8th of an inch worth and start dialing in your CB. If your blocks are tapered, I'd skip that step.

And your truck IS and Offroad? I would've had the diff drop done but readylift advises against this if you have Crawl Control.

Well, added the CB DROP myself, and torqued to 30lb feet. Seemed to remove 80% of vibe.

Took to installer shop for 500mi retorque, and had them add headstrong 2.5 rear axle shims.

Now feels back to the initial shimmy/vibe, but cant get shims pulled back out till next week...arghh..

Even the installer said he thinks we have too much shim. Since the 2inch readylift blocks are tapered, and HE SAYS the factory leafs have a shim, plus we added 2.5deg shim, we might be at up to 6 degrees now... Any thoughts on this?

Wonder if I should pull the CB spacer and check it/leave it with just the shims this weekend?

Otherwise,If pulling the 2.5deg shims back out gets it BACK to where it temporarily WAS with just the CB drop, I think I can deal with it.

Also, someone said stacking CB drops (without the 2.5deg axle shims we added) might help. I have another set of the same OME CB DROP shims(I bought 2 packs), but wonder if it’s safe to stack them, or should I just start adding “washers” to fine tune the first set? Thoughts?

Don't install any axle shims (in any degree) without actually measuring YOUR driveline angles, calculating the working u-joint angles, and figuring out the exact shim degree you need. Playing guess & check games will be frustrating and expensive. Do it right the first time.

Guess I’ll just wait and pull the 2.5deg axle shims out next week then, while leaving the CB DROP and HOPE it goes back to “tolerable” after....
