A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
That's great -- I wish Toyota would do something responsible like this.

Yes. I just use BT. Might have something to do with SiriusXM buying Pandora.

I've never paid the full cost, but you have to be willing to walk away, then the offers start rolling into your inbox.

@jcayce just curious if you made any more progress on any of this?

    Thanks,

Also curious as to any updates on the hacks. Spent new head unit money on ovtune in December but I'm tired of staring at a boring almost useless factory head unit.

Funny that you say that. I never used those apps, but for a while now, I've just been running with the screen off. It is cool that the setting sticks after turning the ignition off.

A head unit or center instrument screen hack would be pretty cool though.

I did use pandora on occasion but I didn't want to jump off a bridge when they removed that functionality. I do like hacking stuff though, especially if it will save me money and keep me interested for a little while. Always used to root my android phones and flash different roms after I got tired of stock appearance and functionality.

I was all set to cancel about 4 months ago, just trying to cut down on useless spending. Until I called and talked them down to 6 bucks a month for a year, down from like 14 or 15

I've been getting e-mails and flyers for 5.99 a month for 12 months for our Rav4. Probably will soon get them for the Tacoma since next week is the end of the trial for it. Not bad for that price, but still not worth it to me.

Just about the time I got the Taco, I gave up on the Pandora subscription. I simply cannot do commercials anymore. After hearing other folks' complaints about song repetition, I started to agree. It doesn't seem to deep dive into B sides and such. So, I jumped on to Amazon Prime Music. The Unlimited free trial was decent, but they didn't have the mix option that I liked in Pandora and station options were ridiculously limited. The non-Unlimited was liveable because: free, but missing major bands like AC/DC, Zep, and others had me wishing for something else. Enter the free 6mo of YouTube Music with the Pixel 3. I'm considering paying for it due to the MixTape function that it goes DEEP including covers and such.

I liked hacking my BlackBerrys because they freaking needed it for both limited OS memory and functions. After I made the Android jump, I haven't even thought about rooting given the BB days. Haha!

One of my co-workers said her father had a dealer install an aftermarket tape deck into his then-new 2006 Civic as part of the negotiations. He’s upset that he can’t find a new car with one that can easily be fit.

I used the CD player once in my truck when I bought a CD at a store before I ripped it to my computer (I still buy the physical CD if it’s a band I like) and the CD got stuck in the player. After that I said forget it and waited to rip it.

Sorry. A bunch of stuff got put on the back burner when I was told I need to get ESL certified or no longer have a job. I have spent most of my free time going to trainings and studying. We have rooted into the system and bricked one unit. The other unit we were able to load a test app but it kept going into a reboot loop. It is not bricked because I can load the original code and it runs like normal. My new plan of attack is to look for a way to emulate another vehicle’s program like a skin over the original program. But that is going to have to wait until I take my test. I have not studied for a test in 25 plus years.

    Thanks for the update!

The test is way more important. Good luck!
