My gut was to negotiate some money back, if it was me, until I read this. Good point. Better to request an exchange for a truly new truck.

I had this happen at a VW dealership. They literally offered me the moon to keep the car. They gave me some cash and an 8 year bumper to bumper zero deductible warranty (which I have used often). I kept it but wish I had made them take the car back as I later learned the son of the owner actually got it new, blew the engine, and then took it back.

 

OP what trim/package/color does your truck have?

 

Sounds like a cluster f*#$. Demand a new truck or for the sale to be cancelled. I wouldn't let them waste more of your time and this certainly shouldn't cost you any money.

Also, leave them with an empty tank of gas just to be a dick.

OP might be a lawyer but never claimed to be an expert on dealership logistics. For all we know he is a patent lawyer.

I have seen dealership try and sell used trucks more than MSRP of new trucks because they put dealership lift and oversized tires.

If you didn't pay cash, ask for better finance rate.

I would be happy with some weathertech mats.

 

The OP lawyer is playing his cards. This seems to be far from over unless the GM or owner step in and make it right.

My guess is that they’ll do that tomorrow.

 

If they can't register or title it, OP doesn't own the truck and can't dealership just take possession of vehicle (alanis morissette cd and all)?

they give a few more oil changes and up the warranty,

PS my truck had 4 miles and i wrote a almost $30K check, but i did order it and it took almost 3 months...

It’s a used truck which is not worth what he paid. I’m not saying he’s gonna get 2k off but I would definitely not pay that for a used truck that was supposed to be new. I’d ask for a new truck and they can have the used one back.
