Our night on the Alvord Playa was uneventful - the wind picked up a bit around midnight, easily remedied by closing the door on the windward side of the tent. And, one of the nice things about winter - at least when you're camping - is that sunrise is a bit later. For us, it was nearly 7:00am before the light started on the horizon...

Hey man got it all squared away with ARB, thought I would update you so you are in the know.
They are exchanging the springs and admit that they are 2 different springs. One at 400mm one at 395mm. This would change the spring rate and make the ride funny. Next time you change a part give it a look and measure to make sure they are specific or within tolerance. We pay alot of money for companies R&d. Though we are all human and shit happens, but Assumption is the mother of all f#$k ups lol.
    :thumbsup::cheers:

Now out to start on a timing belt that I screwed up by not replacing the Idler pully.

Edit: @Yetimetchkangmi good time to look over at what you will have to do.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
Added free height of a spring does not change the spring rate. The actual steel they make the coil out of is what would change that.

5mm difference between springs is not going to make much difference if installed on the driver side. With battery, driver, and full gas tank, there is easily a 2-300 pound difference in load from driver to passenger side.

I wouldn't have worried about it, but that's just me.

Did ARB actually say that the longer spring would make it a different spring rate? That part would be more concerning to me than their quality control.

The only part they make in 400mm is a 887 590lbs spring. The 2 springs I have are different rates springs by lenght and
    Coil spacing wind as well.

Someone miss tagged a part is my point, Arb, and Wheelers. Also yes, if I had disregarded the .25 difference I would have a 590lb spring and a 500lbs.

The objective was to make others aware to check your parts before installing.

Well then, if that's the case, and they were different spring rates, your would have had yourself a taco lean.

Well, when you cut a coil down in length/height, you increase the spring rate, so yeah, it does make a difference.

Installed a set of new/used Wheelers 8 pack thanks to @Shortman5. So far rides much better than my previous rebuilt Toyota/chevy pack!

Planning on replacing the plastic $hitbird radiator...

Timing belt could be next, when you are planning on hitting that?

I tore it down today, just removed the Fan and upper Radiator hose. Pulled all the parts to find out what I needed to order whoppi g 30mins lol. I ordered all Oem parts, both pulleys, tensioner, and belt for a fraction . The parts will be here Saturday or Monday from southern Wa.

Then the Hot Shot Part Deux, in February will be the 2.4 Aluminum Radiator, Electric fan/s, stand alone Trans cooler, Power steering, cooler, and 7.5lbs lighter crank pulley.

Your welcome to observe or participate any time.

How does the front of the bed box attach to the bed sides and bottom? Is it bolts? Bolts and welds? (hard for me to see with it installed, and the bed liner)

Noticed a crack right in the front passenger corner this evening on mine. Wondering if I'm going to be hitting it with the welder or if there's a part I can buy/install. Sides look fine, crack is entirely in the front panel.

Well... So we are talking about the same amount of coils only 5 mm taller so NO... That in and of it's self does NOT matter nor change the rate of the spring.

If you take away an entire coil, or add one, that's a different story. But that's not what we were talking about, now was it?
