Gooseberry is my favorite XC trail ever! That and Guacamole one mesa over. There is so much good riding down there, I just need to get after it more.

I'll gladly be your riding partner if you want a guide for "Geezy"

    North Rim by the overlook:

I dig that color and I think those "tattoos" look pretty cool myself! I'm still behind the times on my aluminum framed 2014 Yeti sb95. I will probably get a new ride next year or so, but just spent a good amount of $ upgrading mine and buying my wife a new (to her) Intense Spider.

Jealous of you 2nd gen guys.. that RaceFace style pad first perfectly on the tailgate.. lining it up on the 3rd gen with the handle/camera the frame strap became a fork strap lol. The inside pads ended up on top of the thicker tailgate and it was messing with my OCD :bananadead:.

I just returned mine, but ended up with the Dakine DLX and it fits great!

Yeah, everyone is going to the thick tailgate design now and it def kills the MTB tailgate carry style

Yakima makes a fantastic application that I use on my 3rd gen. it's not quite as full coverage as a 2nd gen tailgate but I haven't had any issues + their downtube protection and strap system are top notch. the strap system is designed to sit on the inside of the 3rd gen tailgate rather than on top of the tailgate.

I will keep with my trend of having terrible pictures of my bikes until they are done, but I wanted to show of my newest addition to the fat bike.

Cut up a skateboard deck for the rear rack, still needs a coat of poly but looks pretty good for now. Also took the bike to a local frame bag maker for patterning, so hope to have frame bags before winter ends.

I live in Santa Cruz. Glad to see that a local brand (or at least stickered) deck can be used in the snow ... which we don’t have here!

No kidding. Been a lot of wetness here since October, and I'm in shit shape right now!
I see you were out at Big Cedar, how much of it is open now? I got out today and rode Quanah Hill out by Weatherford Lake for the first time...That trail system totally caught me off guard...It's a fantastic ride, can't wait to go back!!

I think that one is North Shore, right? I haven't tried that place but it's about 30-40 minutes away from where this one is. I need to get out there and give 'er a go! I was way down south in GP (by where I live).

I've been in shit shape for a while now, which is part of why I got back into riding, LOL! I'm still fairly new to riding Big Cedar, so not sure what's missing really. It's also kinda confusing, so this was the first time I'd ridden the same loop twice and it was about 4.3 miles each time. I guess they're having some land disputes with the power company, so about half the trail system is no longer available (I accidentally went down into the off-property areas and it was a total slop fest, LOL).

Tell me more about Quanah Hill! As the weather improves, I'll be venturing out further to ride. Does this need to get added to the list???

Quanah Hill, most definitely! It was very easy to navigate. There's the main trail, with off shoot trails that come back into the main. I did all the off shoot trails and netted just over 7 miles (7.3??) It's mostly hard packed dirt with roots and some, not a lot, of rock. Not overly technical but there were a couple downhills that were pretty steep with some sketchy - ish switchbacks that kept me honest. A few butt kicking climbs ( at least for me in my shape) on the El Bandito trail which I understand is the newest. There are more trails in the works supposedly. It's on the MTB project app and also a Weatherford mountain bike club website...? Go check it out!

Ah I think it is north shore...although I remember hitting big cedar although the gravity portion of it looked pretty rotted and abandon.

I go to Northshore fairly often. It’s awesome and if you’d like, I’d go with you so you see how it flows. A buddy I usually ride with has gone to QH but that’s still on my list. We may actually go to NS Sunday afternoon if you’re interested.
